You should also take comfort in the fact that you are either too old or too damn fucking ugly to be a prison bitch.
All I know is that I've been here for about 2 years and I have documented almost every single aspect of my grow with hundreds of pics and I have had no problems. In fact I have never heard of a grower getting busted based solely on documenting a grow on a MJ website or forum. Not saying it couldn't happen, but it seems to me that it's very, very unlikely. If they are following your online persona and tracking your posts, then you must have screwed up somewhere in your personal life in order to get them interested in you in the first place. I mean there is just no way that LEO is sitting around watching all the internet sites and picking out individuals to go after. Their cases start based on a tip or a report from a neighbor or ex-friend, or enemy you may have made, not just because you decided to share your grow on the internet.
there is no risk. i'll stake your future existance on this planet on it. ask your local attourney. they will be straight with you. just be sure to pay them for their hour. and dont grow for the next 3 years or so. :flyy:
You'll forgive my skepticism, I hope. But if I need advice on what to wear to Cinderella's ball I will consult the tailor, not Tim Allen and Al Borland. Likewise I would not ask a scholar of the law about details of the inner workings of class 3 ISPs. If, however, what you meant is that the lawyer says even if they do track you that way, it won't hold up in court, then that's good news. That would be strange, though, since someone posting pics of a marijuana field with thousands of plants in it, does not really qualify as entrapment or anything. On that same token, any of you guys know what data mining is? A crash summary: data mining is why Walmart - and all other stores for that matter - are laid out in the manner which they are. It is a process by which humans teach our database servers, such as Oracle, IBM, Sybase, algorithms that will allow the server to scan a database, and give us (usually) accurate and intelligent predictions and extrapolations based on that data. There is also "unsupervised learning" or "clustering" as well, but pretty much accomplishes same thing. From what I understand, the feds are in the works right now of trying to get permission to basically start data mining us to see who they think are the criminals on the internet, and who are not. They want to use active worms that traverse the backbone tier 1 ISPs, gathering data and putting them into huge databases. Then later, use data mining to see who is most likely the drug dealers or w/e, and use that as basis for a warrant. That would really really blow, because data mining works very well. I don't think it'll happen, but just heads up.
i think u should try to grow a funny bone. pretty much everything i said was a joke. thanx for the info on data mining... i checked...everything i said was a joke...
So tired of this issue. It isn't the IP that gets you busted. It is the warrant the cops use to get your address from your ISP because you were dumb enough to provide them with information for said warrant in real life that gets you busted. Basically you already fucked up. And yes, you can mask yourself in a real way if you know what you are doing. 90% of us can't.
Ive been busted. They looked in my computer for pictures and grow logs. They did not go online to check to see if i was going to a weed growing site.
STAY AWAY FROM CHOKER!!! HE'S BEEN BUSTED BEFORE!!! THAT MEANS HE'S WORKING FOR THE NARCS!!!! :kidding: :laughing7: asssit:
That may be possible if that thread were on GK, but highly unlikely for ICMag, as their servers are not located in the US. Which makes me wonder why a site like this uses a US-based service provider. Why not use an overseas-based service that's off limits to the DEA (or a least much more of a pain for them to access)?
In all honesty, I don't know where we are hosted. I just know that smalltime online presence in the Cannabis industry is the least of anybodies' security issues so never thought to find out. Webby gives us a home to work with and rather than worry I prefer to be grateful.
