That is a very cool pic . . . but I said . . . :cool-pix: Plural! Damn public schools!

 

First problem I had to overcome was in the odor dept.


I immediately noticed that the smell was very strng outside the closet. I assumed it was coming from the crawlspace where I am venting to, but I didn't realize the magnitude of the problem. As I investigated why, I certainly found the problem. I can't believe I didn't notice it before.





Above the cabinet on the back wall where the crawl is, is a 4" gap along the whole length of the cabinet. The concrete wall doesn't go as high on that side as it does inside the closet. The crawlspace isn't sealed.


So I ended up running some additional pipe all the way around and tying it into one of my fresh air vents for the furnace. Now I'm venting outside into the backyard.








The long pipe run did reduce the amount of air I'm moving, but my temps have not been affected at all.


I also put this fan on a timer so that during lights on, its off for an hour, then runs for 30 min, then off for an hour, 30 on, 60 off, etc. Temps only went up one degree to 75 by doing this. I have it coming on for 15 min every 4 hrs during lights off just to refresh the air in the closet.

I don't want to, but I think I'm going to need to scrub it. I'm not sure. If running the fan the way I am now works okay, it will only be venting for a little while every hour. That, and I'm only gonna be doing 4 or so plants at a time. So I'm not sure if I'm going to need to.


On top of all that, there are so many other legal grows and growers around here, is anybody going to even notice? :icon_scratch:

I believe that is Joe's new high tech bong like the one you can drop and doesn't break except this one you can squish with your fingers (kids in the hall) fit right into your pocket, nice and portable, you know like them cups (collapsable) of long ago that remind ya of an accordian.

 

Oh ya, i forgot bout that aspect of it.....that takes atleast $250 a year in scrubbers off your mind, plus the noid-out factors

I think before I spend any money on scrubbers I'm going to try the cheaper natural route first.


The vent comes out right above a small window well.





In the window well I'm going to put a potted rosemary plant. I'll get a big enough one that should partially cover the vent. That's my miniature peach tree there, but rosemary is very thick and really nice smelling.





With the small amount of air coming out, maybe 150 cfm, and it blowing directly into the rosemary, I think that will almost totally knock it down.


If I'm wrong, and I have been before, then I have a design in my head for a compact scrubber that would attach on the end of a cooltube.


Along the lines of this concept, but much cheaper and not nearly as cool looking.

 

Why not just get yourself a nice O3 generator Joe? It's a one time expense and ya never have to worry about smell again. That's if you get the coronal discharge O3 gen instead of the UV model. I had one and I loved it. Goes inline with the exhaust and never needs to be changed.

 

Well, since my ballast burned up last night and almost burned the house down





I had to quickly break out and set up the CFL rig. Got the girls under 9 - 26 watt cfl bulbs until I can get another ballast.











I have to go out of town all next week and I have family that will be here the following week, so they may have to get comfy under the cfl's for a few weeks until I can re-ballast. I'm also thinking I may use this opportunity to upgrade to a 600 watt.


Luckily they are all still vegging and not in midflower. Then I'd be even more pissed at HTG fucking Supply.
