Good lookin plants Joe. Hey dont let that shit get into your buds it will reek havoc with your whole grow!!!! Bring on the fans you have too much humidity in there. Aim one under and one over for better air flow!!!

    I call it "The Ick"

Thanks for the cure advice. I am already doing everything mentioned except the sulpher burner. It's primarily on the Millenium. Supposedly everybody in this area is dealing with powdery mildew right now. The local shops can't keep the treatment sprays on the shelf. In this caes, we think it came through the clones that came from a dispensary and is not being caused by my enviroment.

Here's how I've been dealing with it.

When I first noticed the spots, I went through and really trimmed up the lower scruff. I got rid of all the undergrowth and the popcorn on everything so there is really good airflow through the stalk zone. Any dead/dying leaves are removed immediately and discarded.

There is a second large oscillating fan in front that's out of frame. So the box fan is blowing through the stalk zone, and the other fan is blowing through the canopy opposite of each other. I'm probably not replacing the entire room volume at quite a fast enough rate than I'd like to, but I have really good airflow in there.

Humidity is staying around 27% and spikes up to as much as 35% for several hours on watering day.

Temps are 75-78 lights on, and 66-68 lights off.

I was carpet bombing the whole plant with neem oil, and then a powdery mildew specific treatment called Serenade, which is mostly holding it at bay, but has not gotten rid of it.

Now that I'm flowering, I'm very carefully spot treating just the affected areas. I use a piece of cardboard to protect the flowers as I slowly work around the plant. It's a real pain in the ass and doesn't seem to be very effective. It is preventing a massive spread, but is not killing it.

Even with all the continuous treatments, I still can't get rid of it, and I'm hoping to be able to keep it under control enough to get a harvest.

I haven't taken any clones from the Millenium, and after she's done, it's outta here.

Joe? Does that treatment you're using have sulfur? Sulfur is THE only thing that kills that crap. Trust me...been there done that. I've never used a sulfur burner (I had a spray that had sulfur in it) but I would imagine it'sthe best applicator as it will permeate the entire plant and grow area. Don't play around with that stuff....it can and will make your life a complete hell.

    Thanks Herb/teamster/insaneface :beerchug-2:

I've been treating regularly with neem oil and the Serenade spray. Not sure if it has sulpher or not Herb. I'll have to check it out, but where I'm getting

frustrated is that I spray it, and the next day it's back. But I think I'm wrong. I'm thinking of it like the witch in Wizard of Oz that you spray the

mildew and it screams and melts, but I think what I'm seeing is the dead mildew because it's all the same spots and its not getting any worse.

I still think it came in on the clones and it's not my enviroment. Everything is

pretty right on at the moment. It would probably help to use a small heater w/ a thermostat in there that comes on during lights off.

I'm still going to work on getting some fresh stock and starting from scratch after I run everything though. Gotta get rid of it the mildew.

It's definitly not your enviroment. It was from the Millennium clones, I think. They're the worst of all mine. I did have some issues with the room, so it could have also been from that. But, that was a fairly small amount of mold, and this is mildew. :)

What my plan is is to hopefully be able to finish off all the ones I have, and start completely from scratch, with clones from a known good source.

I plan on doing a COMPLETE update to my thread "The New Flower Room", very soon. I just have so many other things going right now, and it's a bit embarrassing to have this problem at all.

I've heard it said a million times, "Don't allow strange plants into your garden!". But, I didn't think a couple clones from the dispensary would have powdery mildew and effect my entire grow.

Or I failed to keep my environment clean by allowing that condensation in the window area, behind the cardboard used to block out the light.

I just wanted you to know it's not you or your environment, it's me and my environment in some way or another.

On the bright side, we will recover and this will be an immense lesson learned, for me anyway.

I regret your having to deal with this too. I've never had any problems other then the usual spider mites and thats about it.

I feel like I violated you and now I'm telling you about this nasty hooker disease I've had for years. LMAO:dog-nana:

I'd love to blame this on the dispensary and that may very well be the case, but either way, it's my fault for allowing either to happen. I appolagize and I guarantee we will be fine. ;)

    Update: Day 37 Flowering

So I've been really hitting the Millenium hard with neem oil and that Serenade spray to try and

kill the powdery mildew that keeps returning and spreading to the other girls.

Neither of which has been very effective at this stage.

HOWEVER :) on the advice of Rky, I mixed up and applied a simple solution of Baking Soda and Water

Sprayed the plant from top to bottom inside and out. Buds and all. 2 coats.

Let it dry real good then put her back in. A week later and as far as I can tell

every bit of the powdery mildew is dead. This was more effective, and worked in a faster period of time than both expensive bottles of chemical treatments.

On the pics you can still see areas with the baking soda residue, but I can't find any active mildew, and it's not returning. :eek:hyeah:

A couple more updates and it's chop suey for these girls.

I didn't veg these near long enough. They could have gotten at least a foot and a half taller before I switched them. Yield is going to be much lower than these had the potential to do. :BangHead:

The clones I have now are going to have over 3 months of veg time, so the first round in the new house this summer is going to be the biggest and best to date. I'd like to add another 600 watts by then too.

The closet days are over.

This is 5 seeds that I germed. 4 Kalichakra, and 1 Mazar again. Since I have a couple months to veg them I went ahead and put them into flower to sex them. As soon as they show, I'll put them back under 24/0 with the rest of them and top off all that stretchy stuff.

Yesterday morning one showed balls. Down to 4, and I think all 4 of them are going to be female.
