Just shootin shit with new growers

That sucks. If it weren't for some of the guys I know and us putting our heads together, disagreeing and telling the other what we thought and why to support it none of us would have learned anything. I have a couple buddies though that quite honestly and I've told them to their face, they are retarded when it comes to knowing what to do and understanding why something might be happening, though you tell them what to do and BAM! Ballin' and consistent. Me on the other hand I'm good at diagnosing things and helping, I think i give better advice than I apply myself. I've got tons I could improve on and know that, and know mostly what I could improve on. Probably some things I don't realize as well. But for me this is more less a hobby, something to keep me busy, out of trouble(as ironic as it seems), and to keep from dealing with shady ass people and paying someone else for something I could do myself. I'm the same way with my vehicles and everything else. Why pay someone else when you can be self sufficient. Well ok not totally self sufficient. I don't make my own lights or anything just like I don't make my own parts or tools, but I can be innovative once in a couple hundred blue moons. LOL


So did you meet someone else from TX? I just can't think of anyone else but us, the xxx who was in OK, xxxx was in OK for a while as well.

 

Well talk about security busts the one that comes to mind and beyond obcession was the gk meet and greet. I keep my grows mostly on the hush side and dont give out information in public.


Its something to talk on this forum to members but a facinateing thing to meet them in person. The greet was a rare opportunity to meet some of gk's finest and I dont regret it.


Some on this forum have become everlasting friends that I talk with from time to time off this forum over the phone.


My alltime biggest regret was the get together With Mrastro that never gave me a opportunity to meet a great friend before his passing.

Giving people advice is a funny thing. If they don't ask for it, don't give it. If they do, try to help them. I don't like self-aggrandizing pompous I know it all this is what you should do behavior. A good way for others to learn from me is by hearing about my mistakes so they can avoid them. And we all make plenty.


I can't stand blowhard assholes who think they need to tell the world how to live. Got NO time in my life for that.

No not at the first greet. The following year at the second greet we were invaded by cops. Pretty funny they arrived by boat on a lake blue lights flashing and crashed up on the bank. Almost shit my pants I had a ounce right between my legs sitting by the fire. Good fucking thing we were in colorado they never said a word about the pot. Only claimed we were in a part of the lake that was no camping. Never had cops come on a boat before.

You let people know this side of you, and most of them will do just that. Even people who aren't/weren't doing any real growing will try to tell you how to run your garden.


Fuck the naysayers and the know-it-all douches! Sometimes, you're better off without people constantly trying to add their two cents. It's one thing to advise somebody on what they think is the right call in your garden, but it's still your garden. If they cannot respect that, then they need to be purged.


You definitely find out who your friends are/aren't in this line of work. If they think they can do something better, they'll tell ya so. Or they'll take shots at you and then claim they misspoke when you picked up on their insults. They even get offended when you pick up on those shots!

Well I just had a real nice meeting with one of the members over lunch and we talked shop., and lunch was good too. I enjoyed the conversation and would look forward to it again. :redbong:
