Biorock is built using electrolysis and an iron frame, in most cases rebar, and 1.23-1.5 volts of dc current... Oxygen is produced as the biorock grows.... It seems any structure using electrolysis to protect metal attracts all forms of sea life... Drill rigs now complain about having to remove all the things that have found a home on the cathode, the drill rigs themselves.. The more i read, the more examples i see of how well the process works ...... I was most interested in the construction of shapes to be used on land after they're grown in seawater... I was also intrigued by the fact that it accelerates the growth rate of coral attached to it.. I'm guessing this process is being used by coral farmers...
