    Gratitude Smokin' Fat Sticky Buds

InsaneF - Thanks for sticking with me:thumbs-up:

HHHG - Those spindly leaves are making me excited!

I ran out of weed for the first time in years due to the extra month I gave the El Niño to veg, I did that cause I wanted to get enough bud from 3 plants to make worth the run. Anyway, yes, the answer is yes, I've tried them all. I was waiting till they are cured a bit more to do the proper reports with pics etc, but here's a quick run down.

C Plant, I smoke a bong load, a good 3-4 solid hit bong load, then I load another, I get almost through the second when the stone kicks in, I'm relived, it's not complete trash. Unremarkable high, somewhat balanced, mild munchies.

B Plant, While contemplating the second Bong load, it kicks in, head only, stays that way... no munchies.

A Plant, Hits you in the head, makes you wrinkle your nose, on the first exhale. It's a complex head high that has you contemplating the universe, then it moves down into the body, relaxation takes over. Sometimes I don't finish the bowl. It's really nice. I'd have been severely disappointed with this grow if not for the A plant.

La Niña #7 - This plant is 36" from soil to tip. No more headroom available in my cab so I bent her over. I used a long twist tie that I think was wrapped around a bunch of spinach but anyway, here she is.

I love the diversity you get in a pack of Mr.Nice seeds...there's sure to be at least one keeper pheno. I wish I had one of the compact hazes Shanti breeds with.

Headcase - Not even close huh? I've never grown any plants that looked like this in terms of structure so I'm really excited to see how they grow.

HHHG - I'm prepared to keep more than one pheno, we'll see how it plays out:thumbs-up:

Thanks for checking in guys :passsit:

Holy crap it's been a month...

Hey all, I'm still alive and so are the plants!

I've had some really poor luck with photo's of late, may be that the time for a new camera is drawing nigh.

So here's a few from March 12th. That was 33 days.

I've got the plant arraigned roughly the way that they are inside the cab so that you can get an idea of that. The empty space in the top right corner is where the upright oscillating fan is inside my cab.

Ok so it seems that no matter what I do, my plants yellow pretty severely around wk5-6. I see pics of you other guys that have lots of dark green leaves left at 8 wks and I just don't know how you do it.

Here's my yellow ladies. Again, I've been having a hell of a time getting decent pics sorry.

No matter what I do to them, the MRNice I grew out had ton of yellowing issues as well too

I think the yellow might be due to it being a soil grow. Hydro plants seem to hold onto their greeness alot longs. Maybe the root system just cant supply as much as the plant needs. Ive found bigger pots help hold off the yellowing.

Well the La Nina & the El Nino have one thing in common they both are yellow as shit .That would drive me crazy I would up the nutes untill the tips got burnt or give them some veg nutes . But all that yellowing can't be any good it's got to affect the quality & yield I would think. Corect me if I'm wrong but the leaves turn yellow because the plant is using all the nutrition in the leaves. One good thing they sure are frosty.-Bud

LM - Thanks for checking in :beerchug-2:

InsaneF - Thanks man, these girls are a bit fussy but the reward should be worth the learning curve.

Chris - Thanks for the experiential feedback.

Skuzz - You may have something there in the pot size observation. I wouldn't have chosen pot's this small if not for trying to fit 10 in there at the start. I lost 4 males and prob should have gone to 2gal pots at that point. I've always tried to use pot size as a height control mechanism but maybe I should just bend them over earlier knowing how they will stretch... I expect round 2 to be better.

Res - Cheers, It's looking like she will be my best yielding plant...smoke report is what matter's most. The low yielding plants tend toward the more exotic highs from what I've read on the MNS forums. You all will get that report ASAP.

Bud - Yellow as Shit. That's the no-holds-barred Bud that we know! I thought the same thing man, I gave them another shot when they were due for straight water when I saw that yellowing and it just got worse...

So I gave them straight water for the last 2 times and they just seem to keep yellowing no matter which way I move. The next round that I run these will be with the General Organics nutes rather than the Roots Organics that I've been using. And bigger pots. There will be a round in between this run and the next (of the La Niña) as I've been gifted some new-to-me genetics during this run. The La Niña cloned like a dream. I've got 3-4 good rooted plants of each pheno and they are getting the new nutes.

    Any other thoughts than deficiency?

The benefit to the grower of doing the grow-thread is the feedback, don't be shy ppl. I'd rather learn than be told my plants are nice. No offense to anyone is intended. I know my plants are yellow.

Seems like that strain is a hard pheno hunting variety. Some phenos good and some not so. I dont think the yellowing is that big of a problem.

Remember the Reeferman Cherry Bomb photos?? They yellowed the same way in flower. I think its the strain not the nutes or growing ability.

I think you did a overall great job with them grat and it is a testament to your growing ability. rock on man and on with the grow.

Hey Grat, I definitely can relate to plant issues . . . I'm dealing with some myself. Powdery Mildew, not yellowing . . . but, I've been there too.:siskel:

Just from my experience, I'd say anything under a 5 gallon pot for flowering soil plants, will result in problems more times than not.

If your trying to control plant size by limiting the root mass, I'd just put them in 5 gallon pots and buy a pair of scissors. Snip, snip, snip . . .

Once the plants flower out they always grow outside the diameter of the pot, so having the pots that close together isn't necessary, they need to breathe. Put them in bigger pots and spread the out as much as possible. ;) . . . does that make sense?

I'd be willing to bet that the majority of your problems are from the limited pot size.

But, thats all just my thoughts on the matter. :) :ebert:

On the bright side, the nugz you got this round are going to be very "clean" tasting. No green taste there!

Looks like your still going to be getting a decent harvest this round. :) :ebert:

I hope something I said was helpful;)

I dont do soil so I cant comment on the pot size but I can tell you I can grow a huge fuckin plant in a 8 inch hempy pot and not have any deficiency problems at all.

I have 64 clones in 7 inch hempy pots that are 14 weeks old waiting to be planted and I dont have any problems.

    Thanks everybody!

Teamster6 - Thanks for the reminder about the Reeferman photo! The pheno's I have are all with-in a range that is not huge. how to say this better... While I can certainly see the differences between them, there is less variation overall among these 5 than there was with the 3 El Niño.

Rky - I hear what you're saying. I grow in a cab, I don't think I could get 3 5gal buckets in there. I'm pretty sure I'll never flower in pots smaller than a gal again. I'm gonna try 2gal "Root Pots" next time. I like to run 3, 3gal pots LST'd in the cab but I've got too many strains and phenos to limit it to 3 per run.

However it works out, I'll not use these like this again.

HHHG - Thanks man! That's what I'm thinking! Getting tough to wait...

    More pics soon ppl!

    Thanks again all.
