they have such an extremely long life span that they would eventually pay for themselves anyways, it's just a b *^%$ to come up with the 300$+ per bar or more that they want......however if ya had the funds it def would be a very minimal impact on the light bill per month now wouldn't it....I am seriously looking into this in the near future... I know it would be a big up front cost but , hey what the hell ....maybe in the next couple of years or so when the costs come down some...
The LED's are smaller, brighter,and more efficient, its only a matter of time before someone makes a color spectrum specifically made for plant appz. But like someone said before, it wont be for a while maybe, i dunno about a decade. But to me it sounds like a good idea, especially since the po po uses infared cameras in choppers that can pick up on heat sources in specific rooms of your house, LEDs would make it impossable to be spotted or would just be looked at as a common lightbulb. For now Flour's and HPS do the trick so untill we know more about using LEDS, just continue doing what we know best.
Is this really true? My wifes friend was saying something about this but I just put it off as her usual paranoia. There are many possibilities as to what could cause a heat source and I really cannot imagine any judge in good concious giving a search warrant based on the heat in someones house! How would they decide to fly over YOUR house unless they already had dirt on you? All you really need to do is create or move your grow box near a stove or a furnace to totally throw off their detectors.
thats what I'm sayin, this country is at the worst state its been in during my life (18 yrs lol) they have enough to do, and before they know it marijuana will be legalized and it wont matter. I am 90% sure that its gonna get legalized in the usa sometime during my life. Its just my job to help influence the people and get rid of all these "smoking pot ruins lives" ideas. i just had to speak up cause im a lil stoned anyways.... LED's are the future of lighting. When I first discovered how efficient they were (a year ago adding HDD lights to my xbox) it amazed me. I'm sure we can find a way to have 100w power a 5'x5' grow space with LED's. The only thing stopping me from going frankenstein and making one is the whole resistance factor...I'm not to good with math and I hate god for making ohms a necessity for electricity if you havnt experienced the light emitting diode i suggest you make an effort to do so. I was in awe when 1 green LED lit up my basement like an Alienware computer. CD
