That's just not right... glad she found a good home. She's a cutie! I'm more into big dogs for the most part but I have a real soft spot for any little furry dogs. Our first dog after we got married was a little black and white long haired terrier mix... damn I miss that little dog.
An bulldog is my next dog. I really want to get one soon, my little guy is still hyper as hell (granted hes only 3 1/2) and I feel he could really use a playmate. Heres my lil guy. When I split with my ex, she tried taking the dog with her. That was the one thing I wouldnt budge on. Bitch could have taken anything aside from the dog, but she wanted him. I raised his little ass from 2 1/2 weeks old, taking him to work with me everyday. An older pic of him before his ears "perked up" Heres how he rode in the work truck every day He is my little buddy. I went through some pretty hard times, but hes always been there to keep my company. As i type this now I have my feet kicked back in my recliner and he is passed out on them
Man what is it with the women wanting to take the man's dog in the divorce? That's just a low blow! Glad to hear you stood strong and kept you friend by your side. As I have said there is no substitute for the unconditional love that you get from a dog.
They know that's the one thing that will hurt you the most...that's why. My ex got my three labs in the divorce. I'd say it's a safe bet that all three are now dead and gone too. We never kept in touch so I never got to see my dogs again. Some women are just cruel to the core.
Here's a pic of my fiance's Pug, Peaches and my French Bulldog, ALittle. Here's my Dalmatian/Lab, Frank. He's named after Frank Sinatra, you can see why. And here's Momma Donna and Papa Jays little Chihuahua, Cheech. He was actually already named Cheech before they got him. Isn't that karma?!?!?! Thanks to everyone else for posting their pet pics, I enjoy it every time it happens.
Champ is a ham, I can see that . . . I have grown to really love the "Bulldog" look. My Frenchie, is the toughest little chunk of muscle on the block! Great pic, Herb.
Hahhah thats a great pic. I just wish they werent so damn expensive! Hell, I paid $35 for zeus from a local classified
We haven't paid hardly anything for any of our dogs. I paid $100 for the Pug to be driven here from Nebraska, other than that, we got all our dogs free of charge and paid out the ass afterwards. But, wew love them and their worth every penny. I would never have a French Bulldog if had to pay the $2,500 they charge for them. We pay for our pets throughout their lives, so we avoid paying to get them.
I have never paid for a dog myself. There's so many out there that need good homes already...why pay for one? I have to admit that the woman's Bulldog did cost some $$$ but her parents bought him for her. The price tag I believe was $1800. There is no way in HELL I'd pay anything close to that much money for ANY breed of dog. And to be honest....the bulldogs are not what I look for in dogs. I like the mutts because they are strong blooded and have the ability to adapt to most things. Bulldogs are VERY high maintenance. I wouldn't have a high maintenance woman and I damn sure won't have a dog like that. His upkeep is the woman's job. I will say this...he's got quite the personality. You're dead on Rky...Champ HAS to be the center of attention at all times. It doesn't help that he's been spoiled beyond redemption. I see now why I have a teen that's out of line....you shoulda seen the dog when I first met my woman! I had to teach the guy some manners. To this day I am the only person he will give the ball up to. You could say he treats the women around here like his own bitches and I ain't nobody's bitch!. He is a lot of fun though. Champ is always good for laughs no matter what. I call him the 'comic relief' around here. Did I mention he likes to chase geese? LOL...he don't swim so well but at least he knows how to hold his breath! :thumbs-up:
I had to post some more pics of Champy. He's truly one of a kind. Here he is keeping guard over his stick. My woman's parents have three bulldogs themselves. I only have pics of two of them. Here's...the Moose And Ruby. That's Champ and Xena in the back. The parent's live right next door so their dogs are part of my pack too I guess.
Another pic of Robert Parker. When he was a puppy he run out into the street and got hit by a car, then got hit by another car, then ran off and I couldn't find him until the next morning. No injuries except a big scrape that took all the hair off of his nutsack. It never grew back. He has like a little pink flag following behind him when he walks.
I love that his name is Robert Parker. Most dogs I know don't have last names. Hilarious. And not just the last name, who names their dog Robert?!?! lol, too funny. And very cute!
Thanks. The story behind that is, a few months before I got him, I had read a really good book, Life of Pi, by Yann Martel, and there is a tiger in the story named Richard Parker. I had wanted to name him after the tiger character, but I remembered the name wrong. Later, a friend pointed out the mistake, but I just decided to keep the name I had given him.
Oh I thought maybe you really liked Bob Barker.........get it "barker" haha lol nevermind i'm all high.....
OH, i love em ALL!!! i am such a softy for any dog! They are all so cute! We have quite a group of dog lovers here on Gk!!! Peace -LM
Nice! :thumbs-up: Dogs are all characters! I used to climb telephone poles and I've seen some pretty funny dogs. Up on roofs and such. Still makes me smile to see a dog doing something like that.
