Well, to take a step back, lets look at what some other folks have done.

I'm a little in favor of the French Revolution style round up (less the executions - just banishment to a penal colony) sort of just round up the entire 1% and every current politician and ship them out and replace them with....

who the fuck knows. but I tell you what. politician is synonymous with liar, with the possible exception of Chris Gibson, former Republican congressman. That guy is golden.

See my issue is I think government can and should be a tool for the people. I don't see it as inherently evil, stupid, corrupt, slothful, etc. I see it doing a lot of good, and capable of doing a lot more good. The problem is money is mixed in, and power too. These two influences are corrupting of all who partake. Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Look at Trump already saying he's above the law and above judicial review. He's a total nutcase, and in a way I am glad because as someone mentioned earlier at least everybody is paying attention. But it's funny, his every move is being scrutinized as well it should be, and he's crying about it like a big baby.

A big baby with a machine gun.

Our inherent difference, you believe government can help, I think they are the problem.

But it's like that old picture of the number 6, or is it 9...depends on how you look at it but both are correct and wrong at the same time

PP does a hell of a lot more than abortions bro. If you don't know that, I'm sorry, but it's the truth.

The damning piece about Russia and Flynn is that he lied about it to the Senate, the Vice President, and hopefully Trump. Because if he didn't lie about it to Trump and Trump was aware? Then Trump is a co-conspirator in a violation of the Logan Act. That DjT came out today and stated the only reason Flynn is gone is because of press releasing the story should also be concerning. If that's the case, the Donald is saying he's ok with a White House adviser lying to his Vice President and would keep him on staff in spite of such dishonesty.

Dude, you got Trump on the brain, heart and shirt sleeve. Gonna get a new DjT tat next? How about them taxes hmmmm..... DjT and the repubs are now complicit in eroding yet another safeguard against Executive Office corruption. I don't care if it's the Donald, Clinton, Obama or the Mayor of Whoville sitting in the Oval Office, erosion of safeguards is a bad thing. Period. You gonna cheer and say it's no big deal if (god forbid) Chelsea Clinton someday ends up in the White House? You happy not seeing her tax return or the level of her involvement in overseas investment or banking? I sure wouldn't be.

What ever happened to the OWS movement? I hear some of them voted for Trump but I cannot reconcile that with basic logic. Or the Bernie Sanders crowd? How is it possible that 1% of us has hoodwinked the other 99% into believing it's OK to starve the masses while I Scrooge McDuck into my piles of money that I don't need.

Some people want the fucking to continue so they have their shot at being "rich" too? Like even though 99 people out of 100 will wallow in abject poverty, they will all die dreaming of the day they overcome the socioeconomic barriers to prosperity (carefully put in place by the rich and strengthened by mr president business) and do a little fucking of their own. Hey I understand that. I'd rather be a hammer than a nail. But I also see that it's best not to be either. We don't have to live in a zero sum society.

Examples of systemic fucking: make things that are a necessity to survive expensive. Housing. Food. Health care. Fuel.
Do away with providing safe water (let the big corporations make money and pay it all to undeserving CEO's) highways, crime prevention. Parks. To hell with recreation.

I see an element of class warfare / hatred going on here. We Amuricans worship capital and those who control it. We hate the poor.

I think it's crazy how close pResident tRump is to all the antagonists in the movies like the lego movie, etc. It is a real problem the alliance between business organizations (who are by legal definition sociopaths) and government. Government is supposed to be benevolent, servile, helpful, altruistic.

Groping: Nip, are you suggesting that the women trump was bragging about groping WANTED him to do that? OK, so he was parading with prostitutes who were paid to be groped? Is that the defense? They were whores? Or because they were "groupies" they somehow check their basic human rights at the door and it's open season? Can I slap a few too if I am having a bad day?

That's just crazy man. Yeah I can see some situations where randomly groping women I don't know MIGHT be acceptable, as in participation in a giant orgy. But aside from that very narrow circumstance, there is no justification for the disgusting attitude of unchecked lechery. I have NEVER considered forcing myself on anyone, let alone a stranger. And I'm as red-blooded as they come.

How is it possible that normally reasonable and respectful people can suddenly make excuses for trumps universally horrible behavior? Stockholm effect going on here, folks.

seriously res??? the logan act??? don't tell me you are reading salon or gawker for news. no reasonable person....not a single one ever would think what he did is a violation of the logan act. it's not remotely comparable to what the intent of that law I don't care how far the left stretches the truth. Every single administration would be in clear violation of this if you think it applies to this. Do you honestly think our gov shuts down on 1/19 then a new one starts making calls on 1/20??? That is absurd. How about elected reps and senators?? Are we going to lock them em up as well? constitution is clear, thats executive branch power, so every last elected official should be held in violation of the logan act if the president so deems fit to say that??

And once again, did you read the times report????????? talk about fake news. odd that fbi hasn't done anything...right? or are you saying fbi, cia, who are leaking info against trump are secretly backing him??

    https://www.nytimes.com/2017/02/14/us/politics/russia-intelligence-communications-trump.html?_r=0

only line you need to read is ...the officials interviewed in recent weeks, so far, they had seen no evidence of such cooperation.

and frankly his taxes don't bother me, why would they? what are they even going to say? seriously? he's already admitted he doesn't pay fed tax because of a massive loss years ago.....just like everyone else that runs a company. I honestly don't understand what that is about except a talking point. The original point of the tax issue was to prove he was broke and not a good biz man...remember???? now it's he's so rich and has so many connections?? you can't have it both ways....so those asking...were they lying then or now?

And hilarious, listening to CNN right now and they are even talking about the leaks and the highly criminal matter it is....and that it gives the appearance of a shadow government that is not accountable to voters. But you're ok with that??? You're ok with a system that blackmails citizens and gov officials into doing as they are told or sensitive information will be released?

Everyone here, post every last text, pix, etc on your phone....not a single one of you will do that, but you think gov that doesn't have to report to 'the people' should be allowed to blackmail its citizens???? i'm sure every single last one of you have something that would absolutely embarrass you that you don't want out.....but obviously our government should be allowed to force you to obey or release that info...gimme a break

And PP, yea I know about PP....when I was in jr high I used to take my GFs there to get birth control so their parents didn't know they were having sex....it's all they really do, sex and abortion....but I'm pro fucking and actually pro abortion..that's right I said it. If a woman wants an abortion and doesn't get one, I bet that childs life is hell so fix the problem...before 20 weeks

    SuperMo....

OWS movement is BLM now, it's the same scam, new name.

I do find it interesting you mention Sanders and talk about the 1%....is he not? isn't he the prime example of whats wrong with the system. Didn't his wife bankrupt a college fucking students over and still got paid even after everyone else was fucked? Doesn't he have 3 homes? Did he just purchase a lake home with 600k cash even though it's more money than he should have according to his filings with senate?? Did he get kicked out of a hippie commune because he wouldn't work but instead just tried to tell others how to work??

I have a question, do oyu give all your weed away? obviously you do, it's you contribution to the poorer people that cant afford it, so you lower your prices and lose money to do the right thing....right?

And the rest of that shit is a pipe dream...do you have a smart phone or computer? why??? you don't need one and not everyone has one...how about a home? do you live in a house? why not in an apartment so you can fit more people in the same area and everyone gets the same sq footage? Or healthcare....every last universal healthcare is shit compared to ours....its like comparing medicaid (socialist healthcare) to my UHC plan. I pay out the ass in case something happens, but if it does, I get the best doctors, my own room, etc etc....its costs my family almost 20k for that....why should someone deserve the same that doesn't even work?? You telling me that I should work 80-100 a week...every week and some dude can sit at home and he derserve as much as me? Sorry I wholeheartedly disagree.

And food, water safety?? That is by far the biggest joke in the entire world. If any company produced in accordance to government standards the entire country would be sick. You wouldn't even be able to send food to mexico...did you know that mexico has higher legal standards in food industry than we do?? Companies dictate standards in the industry so we don't get sued...no one at all does the min that the feds require because it's a joke and you will get sued. Hell most companies won't buy from companies that aren't at least BRC because American standards are shit....thats right you can't sell food to another food company in america using american standards, you actually have to have BRC inspections or SQF

And listen to what the tape says again...you're outta your mind if you don't think that rich people fuck women just so the women can brag. exact quote "And when you're a star, they let you do it" let, that means allow, that means consent.

Use the left standards...he tried to hug me, he tried to kiss me.....what the actual fuck, do you sign a contract now before you hold hands or kiss for the first time??

MY gods, I've been raped numerous times. You know how many girls I've slept with that I really didn't want to? or I let them give me head just so they would go home when i was younger.

I must be hanging out in the wrong places. Never been raped. And on that topic, I really can't respond to a defense based on "they let you do it. My only point isn't that his behavior was actually criminal, which is still a question, but that his behavior and attitude was reprehensible and a poor example for our nation's youth.

I mentioned Sanders because he seemed to appeal to change the gov types, get money out of washington etc. those disenfranchised by the current system, had a large appeal and following. I know nothing about him personally so can't speak to the truth or falsity of what you said about him. I like some of his ideas. Free college.

The Germans and Scandinavians (and most other developed countries in the world) have proven universal health care works. HSA, forsooth. That's the biggest joke of all. YOU save YOUR money to spend on us. How one can complain about high health insurance premiums while denouncing universal health care is beyond me. "I'm paying too much!" "OK, how bout free health care?" "That's a terrible idea!"

From the article: "The F.B.I. declined to comment. The White House also declined to comment Tuesday night, but earlier in the day, the press secretary, Sean Spicer, stood by Mr. Trump’s previous comments that nobody from his campaign had contact with Russian officials before the election.“There’s nothing that would conclude me that anything different has changed with respect to that time period,” Mr. Spicer said in response to a question.""

Trump and Spicer said no contact. Repeatedly. No we know there was. You telling me you would rather not know? Not at all concerned that the president and his top officials just got caught in a blatant lie? About an issue that goes to the very heart of our representative system of government? You think the intel agencies all link arms to broker power and push agendas that serve them, and to do this use "blackmail?" Well, it's not exactly blackmail if the goods are a crime and you're the president. That's called public service. I'm a fan of Snowden BTW and thought Obama responded poorly to him. But his hand was forced in a way - he was basically caught sniffing Angela's undies. Hard to be soft on that guy.

If I could discern an agenda I might be more worried about an intel community gone rogue.

lol, you never slept with someone so they would leave you alone or go home? damn i don't know if i'm lucky or really am a rape victim lmao

see free college isn't what we need, free trade school yes, but college is over priced piece of paper that says you drank for 4 years and your parents have money.

but i just disagree about healthcare, it's why we are a world leader. I think it does need reformed, and we pay way to much....but it's still the best system.

the fbi isn't even doing interviews about that, it's a nonsense issue. it really is more russia stole the election and hillary should be president. what was it like 40 other countries that flynn spoke too? why aren't people complaining about that? And the issue isn't prior to election, it's prior to swearing in...thats the issue at hand. no one is saying that there was pre election connection with a shred of evidence like they are about the dec convo

I don't trust the intel community, it's neocons and bankers...who report to no one

Dude...you're putting up with shit you wouldn't tolerate for one second from any other administration. What I've seen are excuses and rationalizing.

No tax returns? Again, would you accept the same from Clinton? Obama? Bush? Have fun watching a Pres do away with one of the few protections and sources of unbiased info we have. And the outright lie he told his voters when he said he would release them after he was elected. The cat was right when he said he could shoot somebody and his followers wouldn't care.

College, an excuse for drunken play time? Tell that to my kid who graduates this spring having completed a double major in 3 years and worked damn near full time doing it. Secondary education is the single biggest investment a country can make towards it's future. Other nations have figured this out and offer free, or near free, education to any who qualify. It lessens future reliance on welfare systems and raises tax income by putting people in a position to earn $$ they wouldn't have otherwise. It spurs research, social improvement, new business and innovation. Do the macro economics and you'll understand the relationship between education and advancing economies.

The Logan Act. Yeah, it was the Logan Act that almost sunk Reagan right out of the gate too. And don't go trying to pretend I'm some sort of stooge who has no comprehension of transitional politics. You're not talking to an idiot here.

You don't trust neo-cons and bankers? Who has DjT surrounded himself with? Who are his buddies? Could they be neo-cons and bankers?

But you're on the train my friend. The train of fear, punishment and division. To bad it's fear of the powerless, punishment of the powerless and division that best suits those who have power. It's an ugly track that benefits no-one in the end, except those who sell the tickets.

    RES FOR PRES

In all seriousness though. Where do we go from here? While it is fun to watch Trump get raked over the coals, it won't last. He'll be gone in at most 8 years (hopefully much sooner). Who is going to lead us? Who could I really get behind? What is my personal politico?

Drawing a blank. It's easy to take shots from the sidelines. Much harder to come up with a solution.

Or maybe it isn't. Look at great civilizations before us. De nobis fabula narratur.

so many strawman arguments in that Res, I'm guessing since i'm trump fanboy you must be upset we aren't lobbing nukes at russia so we can fight over who gets mid east resources, rebuilding contracts, and state debts....... and that we don't have queen hillary

and congrats to your daughter, but you realize for every student like her there are thousands if not tens of thousands of students who have a useless degree. And obviously you've never seen the difference between American universities and European ones....that may be worth looking into before you compare the two. Did you know only 1/4 get a job in their field of study???? Hell less than 15% get a job out of school...... That means the absolute over whelming majority have a useless piece of paper. But somehow trade schools, you know blue color workers are looked down on in your eyes, who cares about them right....they obviously don't contribute ' research, social improvement, new business and innovation'...fuck those guys even though they make more money than college grads on average.

We shouldn't teach people how to use their hands to build things, to farm, to repair, we should pay 100k per student to teach about gender studies, shit do I get my 30k back that I paid for my wife going for Art History???

And again, the tax returns don't mean much to me....they really don't. it may be different with different candidate, but they only reason the issue was raised was to try to embarrass the man, not to see anything worth noting.

And again, the logan act has absolutely ZERO to do with this situation. I Listened to CNN on the way in to work this morning....'new day' went on for over 30 minutes that it was wrong for Trump to fire Flynn because FBI came out and said he wasn't lying and that no crime was committed....my fucking jaw dropped. Which is it with you guys? Is this a big Russian conspiracy or not??? To say that there was a big conspiracy even SuperMo with the Russians is trying to suggest it was during the campaign which is absolutely FALSE, it was just before swearing in...but then come out to say 'well there wasn't so it shows Trump doesn't have the ability to govern and he will fire those he disagrees with'. It is mind numbing to anyone with common sense.

hey, but drive those ratings up, it's not like CNN isn't part of the 1%....even though they like washington post actually make money selling fake news to support or suppress governments....remember they are the word of god himself, looking out for the little man and would never run state sponsored ads that look like real news to keep global elites in power

And I guess we have totally different views on bankers and neocons.....you're worried about goldman sachs, me Im worried about IMF and Fed Reserve. Huge difference in my eyes.

I voted for Obama and waited for him to fuck up before I hated the man...you guys are just the opposite, you're acting like people who called him the manchurian candidate before he was even elected.

this though, this i agree with....but once again big money backed the left, Hillary war chest was $1,200,000,000.00 and you act like she was for the little guy. Actually over double of trump.

kinda like Sanders....that's right it was all little donations for him, right? even though it wasn't and he had rich backers that he actually had to give money back to and is still fighting to release his forms for the election.

or enter jill stein, how'd that recount go?? hey but she put 7.5 million in her pocket right? you know because she was so worried about fraud and all, but somehow kept the majority of the cash to pay herself in the future.

these people are really fighting for the little guys

    http://reason.com/blog/2015/10/22/what-bernie-sanders-doesnt-understand-ab

When a politician says something that indicates a serious fundamental ignorance about economics or crime or really any subject, it can make you wonder whether they truly don't know what they're talking about or whether they're cynically assuming the average voter won't know enough to realize the flaw.

With Sen. Bernie Sanders it can be a toss-up. He recently tweeted a particularly stupid complaint about college loans, whining that there's no reason why their interest rates should be higher than for cars or mortgages. It was pointed out that cars and homes can be repossessed or foreclosed upon, thus reducing the risk from the banks for providing the loan and reducing the potential losses.

Does Sanders even understand this? Who knows? Today the Washington Post has published a commentary from Sanders calling for free college that again highlights his poor grasp of the economics of higher education and avoids any discussion of why college costs are skyrocketing. After crediting the progressive movement with creating the K-12 public education system, he declares: "By 1940, half of all young people were graduating from high school. As of 2013, that number is 81 percent. But that achievement is no longer enough. A college degree is the new high school diploma."

driven up prices and eliminated any incentives for colleges to restrain costs. It's just a thing that happened.

Instead, Sanders points to other, smaller countries that have "free" college tuition (scare quotes because obviously somebody's paying for it): Finland, Denmark, Ireland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and Mexico. He takes special note of Germany, because even Americans can access their college system:

For a token fee of about $200 per year, an American can earn a degree in math or engineering from one of the premier universities in Europe. Governments in these countries understand what an important investment they are making, not just in the individuals who are able to acquire knowledge and skills but for the societies these students will serve as teachers, architects, scientists, entrepreneurs and more.

Since Sanders left out any analysis of why college is so expensive, it's worth exploring what exactly Sanders has left out when he invokes Germany's college system. Note that Sanders has said "A college degree is the new high school diploma"? That attitude is exactly backwards from how Germany approaches higher education. Germany does not have a work environment that demands a college degree for every well-paying career. The apprenticeship program that Sanders bemoans having lost in America is well intact in Germany. Many careers that require college degrees in America do not require college degrees in Germany.

Even with the free tuition, Germany actually has a lower college enrollment rate than many other Western countries, including the United States (check out World Bank data here). Actually, America has a higher rate of college enrollment than all of the countries Sanders lists except for Finland.

Oh, also: America has a higher college graduation rate than Germany, too. And a greater percentage of young Americans have college degrees compared to every country on Sanders' list except for Norway and Ireland.

Instead, Germany has a very robust vocational education track that partners businesses and the government to provide apprenticeships, so the government (and citizenry) is not paying the full burden for the students' training, though Germany is still covering classroom costs.

It is also a highly regulated, centrally controlled, and very inflexible system that probably won't fly in the United States. Tamar Jacoby noted at The Atlantic when exploring Germany's apprenticeship program a year ago:

What makes dual training work, every manager told us, are the standardized occupational profiles, or curricula, developed by the federal government in collaboration with employers, educators, and union representatives. Every young machinist training anywhere in Germany learns the same skills in the same order on the same timetable as every other machinist. This is good for apprentices: It guarantees high-quality programs where trainees learn more than one company's methods, making it possible for those who wish to switch jobs later on. But it's hard to imagine this level of state control or business-labor cooperation in the U.S.

It's certainly easy to see how a guy who thinks we have too many types of deodorant would not grasp that flexibility and innovation could be lost as a result of standardizing college the way we have public education. It's also possible Sanders wouldn't even grasp that this is a problem.

    Crazy. I will never understand.

Res I wonder. Citizens United. It's the legalization of bribing politicians. Why is bribing politicians bad?

Can we at least all agree that bribing politicians is bad? That might be some common ground.

Just spent a few days riding powder in the Montana/Idaho mountains. It's all good. Fuck Trump. No let's not nuke Russia. (Really bad idea) Clinton is a pig at the trough. Trump and his buddies are the trough. Sanders was unrealistic but the most honest of the three. That counts in my book.

But fuck it. Powder shots on a sweet ride, good toke and good people makes everything better. We'll live. For better or worse, we'll still be here doing our thing and before we know it...the world will be a better place no matter how hard we try to fuck it up. That's the nature of our evolution. i agree with that. wife and i joked last night we are staying in and turning off phones. had a nice weekend hanging with old friends and kids, then zoo trip yesterday with different set and friends...all the while sneaking tokes from the private cookie jar. nice to recharge batteries for a minute, but i think i need some real piece and quite with nature around

i would love to see that country though, I'm personally still trying to find 'the great outdoors' type location for a family camping trip.

my whole point is you gotta at least be balanced in the shit, it is a shitty situation but both sides are playing the game, to act like either is innocent is inviting the fox into the hen house.

Any see Rinkeby Sweden news yet? Odd after almost a solid 24 hours of bashing no one reports of the riots overnight.

People getting so upset when no one even knows the truth...like I said, when shit effects me you'll know it...but I'm not going to get mad over something i don't know true facts about. But you gotta get stories from all sides, because then you can atleast somewhat guess whats going on instead of listening to streaming op-eds thinking it's news

Fuck the earth could be flat, and we may never have been to the moon for all i know....but i do think i know how to grow some dank weed, same as you all.
