Hi Res. I tried the link that you posted. Unfortunately, despite the pics, I couldn't really understand what was going on or what you were doing. I sorta need a step by step. Somebody posted a GK thread with some of that. But I never found out for certain what to do what after you shake up the trimmings with alcohol:


Do you pour the alcohol out onto a pan? Do you filter it through a coffee filter? Do you heat the pan? To what temp? For how long? Do I need to use a double boiler, or do I need to sit it in the sun and wait for the alcohol to evaporate? What is the heat for, to evaporate the alcohol? Can't you heat-dry it too much and just end up with useless brown stuff burned and caked onto the pan? How do you keep that from happening? How do you heat up the rubbing alcohol to evaporate out of the mixture enough to where it doesn't leave you with useless burnt goo on the pan? In the thread, I saw the trimmings and the alcohol in a jar, then the next pic was of the finished hash. How did you get from alcohol and trimmings to the finished hash? What were the steps in betwten?


. I know it's a lot of questions. These were my specific questions that I didn't find a direct answer to anywhere else. If you guys could help me out with this right here, then I might be able to make some nice hash out of these 2 plants before we leave. Anyway I can get a little more noob-style instruction? I have tried making hash using this method before and I ended up with the smell of scorched alcohol and a bunch of scorched crud on the pan. It couldn't be scraped off or used for anything. I couldn't even wash it off the pan.

 

Hey bro. Thanks for the info. You said you "torched it" and evaporated the "Heet" in 20min. What exactly do you mean by that? Will I need to use Heet, the gasoline additive, or will I need to use rubbing alcohol? I'm certainly not gonna sit around for 2 weeks and watch alcohol , or is it "Heet"? evaporate. I'd like to try the heat method, but I still don't understand what I'm supposed to do. In those hash how-to threads, you guys are using a shitload of jargon that I do not understand.


Can you just break it down to me in real simple layman terms? I don't want to know about chlorophyll or UV rays or any of that. I just need someone to tell me what to do to make some hash.

 

Thanks bro. That makes things much more clear. Do you mean simply holding the hair dryer underneath the pan, or do you also move it around the top of the pan as well? What signs should I look for to indicate that it's ready?


I need lots of input on this b/c it seems to be the only chance I'll have to use the half-developed buds my plant has produced before I have to move.

to BUMP again, but I'ts literally me and my 2 girls vs. the clock. I've got 11 more days left to flower before the movers come and take everything. Maybe after I pack up and send my lights off with entire house, I could continue to use the sun for another week or so in order to do a little more flowering before I have to harvest.

I need input on this b/c time is of the essence and it seems to be the only chance I'll have to use the 1/2-2/3 developed buds my plant has produced before I have to move. I cant just walk away from them w/out at least trying something.

It will def get you more, cause it will give you an extra 2 weeks of flower, so if you're already 4-5 weeks into flower you'd be close to almost getting a full flower period, you get most of your bud in the last few weeks.


Keep those cfl's pretty colse to your girls, you'll get buddage.

 

Thanks for getting back to me, bro, but I don't have cfl's. Right now I'm using a 400W and a 150W. So, are you referring to my suggestion about putting the plants out in the sun for the rest of the flowering cycle after my lights are gone?

 

You could prob do that, but what I meant was to pick up some cheap cfl's and flower out that way, it won't give you as much compared to your Hps but it will work and then you can use the cfl's as regular light bulbs in your new place.

 

I'm seriously thinking of setting them in the sun. I have lots of growth of garden vegetables and flowers all around my house right now....front, side, and backyard. I think that if I set the plants amongst those vegetable and flowers (especially the gigantic sunflowers), that it will create enough of a subterfuge that nobody will see them. Even if they are spotted, I'd be very surprised if anybody called the cops. Even if they did, I'd only receive a "first-offense ticket"......a civil citation.

 

Don't use a hair dryer that's too hot.


Look add your trim bud or whatever to the jar, add enough isopropyl alsohol(preferably 70% iso) to cover the trimmings shake for one minute and strain through a t-shirt or cheese cloth, coffee filter will take fucking forever to drain. Hell if you have a fine metal strainer for the kitchen use that. Once it is strained pour it in a glass pan and let it evaporate. If you do it open air it will take about 2-3 days not 1-2weeks, if you place it outdoors it just depends on temps and humidity in your area, or you can use a heating pad and a fan. Place the pan on the heating pad and point the fan at it. Shouldn't turn out hard, if it did you melted it down, if it turns out gooey you didn't allow the alcohol to evaporate out completely. If you evaporate it properly you will get a powder, if you do it indoors more than likely you will get the blonde golden hash and reddish hash if you do it outside.

Skunk, what's your opinion of my plan to set my 2 plants out in the sun to flower some more after I've packed up my lights for the movers?

 

Not sure when you plan on doing this but if you do you are risking stress from the move and you will have to cover the plants with trashcans or something more than likely. Still a little time before flowering begins.

 

Actually, I'm 29 days into flowering. I have 9 more days inside the grow room with my lights until the movers come and take everything on 07/30.


The plants and I will still be here until 08/13, but I won't have any grow lights.


Would moving them outside in the sun for a few days after my grow lights are gone help me to get a little more out of the flowering? I'd set the pots outside in the sun for 10-11 hours during the day, and then bring them in at night for their dark period. Whattaya think?

 

Well that's what I meant you just couldn't leave them outside because the days are too long you would have to cover them or bring them in. The only thing you really got to worry about is heat and humidity. You could either stress the crop or develop mold. Pests area a concern too but if you live in a humid area and have some dense buds you may keep an eye out for mold to form. If you live in a really hot are it could heat stress the plants a little and air out the buds. Either way you will still have more bud than you do now, if you get a little mold or it gets a little airy, shit just hash it out. That would be easier to conceal for the move anyway.
