No, its not that it won't flower, its just that you are wasting electricity, and money. One 1000w hps is way too much for that grow area. Add on the two mh's, and you're overkill. The plants wont grow any faster. They can only use about 70w per q. ft. You are running up in the 230 watts per sq. ft. range. Why not save the money and your light bulbs? Also, 18 plants in 13 sq. ft. you better bud em small, at like 8 inches tall (thats about 20 cm for you metric folks) or they will crowd themselves out. Next time for that size grow area, only plant 1 plant a square foot. If you were actually using all of your 432 sq. ft of room, then you would still need more lights than what you have. A lot more.
I realise if i was to use all the room i would need more lights, when i mentioned setup i meant the area it uses not the amount of lights i have. As for budding at 8", too late, we are already at 2-2.5feet and only have about 2feet of grow space left and only started budding 3 days ago, they are now growing 2-3inches a day, much more than we expected, if they double in size between now and harvest we should be safe, anymore than that and we will be in trouble, will removing the mh's slow the groth at all, or is there any other way to keep it flowering but slow down the upwards groth? I have realised that the plants are way too close together but i dont want to go moving them around and disturbing them at this stage. This learning curve is getting bigger everyday!
