Thanks Naturalistic it was scary as hell on a first grow... but again if you listen to what GKers tell you and apply the sound knowledge they pass on... you will have success...
Hey Bigbud. I'm with Ras when he said you don't give yourself enough credit. Some people can grow by direction only, and some can't even with direction. Some people got the green thumb. I know because I'm lucky enough to be one of them I'm told. I think Ras would agree that you got a green thumb too. I'm here for you when ever you need me, same as the mods and Ras and any other committed GKers.
WOW MrGJ Thank you very much... that means more than you could know... having Mods like yourself and Resin as well as experienced growers like Ras and Dix, and all the others telling me Im doing well is amazing.
Said friend also received a sick bean... so we have a sort of give and take thing going... im lucky to met a fellow grower on a chance meeting... :flyy: :flyy: :flyy:
So what art the advantages to tying down the plants like you have? I was awfully nervous when I saw the suggestion come through and they really have become quite a beautiful sight.
Well Rking seeing my ladies suffered that toxic napalm bombing i had to cut back so much vegetation... it was suggested i tie them down to allow the remain nig shoots to become individual main colas... so now i should end up with anywhere from 6 to 8 main colas on each plant... in a nonstress induced gow tying down helps to maahe a stratchy plant so she doesnt grow to tall.. its also used bysome to grow short extremely bushy plants and helps to maintain an even canopy... this can be used for those who grow in spaces with height restrictions... again im an extremely new grower so this info is what ive piced up in the 2 montths ive been on here... im sure if im mistaken the more experienced growers will correct me... and there are those who tie down all their plants lol hope this helps... BTW i wanted to watch teh natural progression and growth of my plants on my first grow... i do feel cheated out of that lol... but i bet my ladies are going to reward me with a better yield than i would have had with out this... funny huh
AB, Enough said huh? damn man that is impressive as all hell... problem is my canopy is a lil off in height... the top of the meristem has much smaller shoots than the base... im trying to pinch and bend the taller ones... well im not gonna complain... as long as i get two or three main colas and a couple msaller ones ill be happy... Thanks for sharing AB
That is a beautiful sight right there. Now is that something you have to do from the very start I am assuming?
You can always adjust them later as well. I usually do a final adjustment 2 weeks into flowering, after the stretch. Thanks. Well, you don't have to start from the very beginning. I usually wait until there are 3 or 4 nodes before I tie down the top.
Everything he said! Plus, when you bend the growing tip of a plant DOWN, it makes the plant produce more grow hormones for some reason.... and the big pay-off is, instead of the typical "christmas tree" shape of a natural plant, where the top gets most of the light and every branch below gets less and less, tieing gives you a BUNCH of colas that are all about the same height---thus, each gets the same amount of light....and more and bigger buds, as a result. How cool is that? Dixie
One picture IS worth a thousand words! That bottom pic...now, that's a "wreath" Id like to stick on MY front door for Crissmus. Gorgeous, AB! Thanks Dix
ok officially 2 weeks since tying down here they are 2 weeks after being tyed down... they are doing very well... tonight im connecting my ductwork and exhaust fan and gonna do a temp check.... if all goes well the ladies will be put under 400w MH light to finish veggin... yes i picked up a MH bulb today... ok in this one you can see the PE in the back right corner... and my new Q13 x Black Widow clone...
