my very first grow room

While looking thru, my instant reaction looking at the last pics, were pretty much the same as MrGJ's.


You did well your first grow. Judging by your initial results, you'll soon being doing much better.


Some ppl just can't grow (ANYTHING) and some ppl have a green thumb. Big advantage growing weed. You can study your ass off, but not be able to execute.

I know im an embarrassment to the GK community... im tossing all my gear and not even gonna finish the first one... just about to throw all them there plant thingys in the dumpster... im so sorry for wasting all of your time...

That's the same light setup I'm rockin BB. After vegging under a 600 W HPS the first go and now vegging with a 400w MH there is a huge difference in the growth. Really limited my stretch.

 

I'm cloning but first I must get the strain going. One seed = many plants.:thumbs-up: I tried just looking in my veg cabinet and praying for the strains I wanted but they never showed up, so I must sow. :roffl: At least one seed of each. And I'm not sure of keeping mothers. I have about 25 more strains of seeds to pop and a lot more I'd like to try. :bong-2:


Now back to our regularly schedeled program.

 

rut roh what happened?


these are 2 leaves i pulled from my PEx my guess is is a Ca/Mg deficiency but as a newbie im worried my diagnosis is off... my ladies were all jealthy as can be until i stopped buying wal mart R/O drinking water and using a PUR mineral faucet filter... ive use the water from the PUR for a couple of feedings/waterings... pH'd to 6.5 as always... my SSH and OGKs are fine... except that OGK 2 cant support her buds lol and when i took her out to water her today all hr colas fell over LOL... she was the runt of the bunch lol and he buds are getting very dense and hard... anyways back to the leaves from the PEx... the whole plant isnt effected and run off today was reading a pH of 6.4... as you can see the leaves are showing two different patterns thats why im stumped... please help... i fluxhed all of em with pH'd water today and some Ca/Mg+

 

This popped up last week on me BB in my Jane Doe, gave a dose of Cal/Mag to all three plants to be on safe side. I'm going to say that I am for certain mine was a Magnesium def, but the crispy edges on the right leaf make me wonder about yours. My browning started to subside a lot after that first dose I gave mine.

 

yeah and its not happening on the bud leaves just some of the mid canopy leaves

 

that one on the right is confusing to me... and does it mean i ahve 2 different problems

 

Hey BB, whe you flush, use twice the water than is in the pot. So if the pot is 2 gallons than you flush with 4 gallons of water. That will normaly take care of any ph lock out problems do to salt build up from nutes over time.

 

so you think its a ph lock out? even though my runoff ph is 6.4 in soil?


not doubting MrG just making sure i am understanding that i can have a lock out when my ph is reading within range

 

You can have salt build up that keeps the roots from abosorbing nutes the way they should in my experiance. I just flush with the ph adjusted water and nothing added for the flush, than at the next watering I add nutes again.

 

Will be done tommorrow when lights on 5 gals water per plant hee hawww

Are you flushing for harvest or to cleanse the soil? I think I read someone writing that there needs to be a diferent name for one the two to differentiate and I concur.

 

This right here is EXACTLY what I went through on my first run BB, to the T!!!


Cal/Mag def is triggering those rust like coffee stained leaves and some very SLIGHT K lockout(by the looks of the SLIGHT loss of dark green around the edges on the right). None of this is a big deal really, seeing as how you are so close to flushy flushy.


How much longer you plan on going BB?

today is day 40 so have atleast 2-3 mre weeks of flower as the advertised flower time is 8-9 wks but we all know how erroneousthose advertised times are... i am going to do a twice the pot size flush to help cleanse any salt build up which can be causing the def.... then ill go back to some nutes for a couple of feedings and see where i am... then im guessing its harvest flush time... thanks guys appreciate all the help

 

Aren't you close to week 7 of flowering BB? At that later stage of flowering it's pretty normal to start seeing deficiencies especially in the largest leaves first. You want the plant to consume it's leaves in the last couple weeks of flowering ensuring that there are no excess nutes stored in the plants before harvest. It looks like Ca/Mg def. and some K def. as well. As Mr Gj stated though the def. could be from lock out caused by salt buildup from all the nutes they were getting.
