Oh,,,crap. I was planning on asking you how to take those great closeups....but after reading what you do with your camera...I realize I dont even speak the language.

Any way you can break that down to third grade level? I have a Cannon PowerShot A-1000. I KNOW the camera can do it....but between my lousy vision and lack of camera savvy....I guess Im sorta screwed.

    LOL!

Thanks for keepin an eye on my grow... i appreciate your comments and your avatar always makes me crack up

    Dix,

ok dix you need to set the camera on shutter priority... on my camera its the TV setting... then you set the shutter speed... that is the time the shutter stays open during the exposure.... the faster the speed the sharper the image... so when taking pictures of moving objects you need a fast shutter speed to freeze the image clearly... this also works for helping with camera shake... most professional photographers are capable of taking clear images at a shutter speed as low as 1/60th of a second... i used to be that good lol... so i set the shutter speed to 1/250th of a second... this effectively eliminates minor camera shake or subtle movements in the subject... once you select the shutter speed the camera sets all other exposure settings for you... now depending on teh available light the shutter speed i chose may allow for an excellent exposure... but seeing i can not use the flash when i shoot in macro the exposure tends to be dark... so my camera has an exposure compensation setting... this allows you to tell the camera to adjust its exposure either plus or minus in 1/3 steps up to +/- 2 full settings...so because im not allowing enough time for a good exposure i tell the camera to add more exposure than its reading... this can be done by accessing your setting and finding the exposure comp tab... some cams allow you to see this with the on screen settings... now white balance is basically telling the camera the temp or spectrum of teh light source so it can adjust the colors... do u remember when you took pics with daylight film indoors and everything looked yellow??? same here... Just like plants see certain spectrums... cameras need to know the light source so the colors we see are the colors the camera captures... so to help compensate for the very orange color of HPS light i set the camera for tungsten light... this makes daylight look very blueish but helps cancel out some of teh orange but not all... most cameras allow on screen white balance settings... you will proubly see daylight. cloudy, flouro, tungsten, custom, etc... any other questions feel free to ask

the SSH will probably be next and the OGK looks like she will be last...

Ya, the smell going away is normal. As it cures it will come back.

Great looking plants. Congrats to you. Know you worked hard to get to where you are.

That's a cool pic. Much patience to trim all that shit on the branches still. I would've gotten about halfway through the first bud, and said "fuck this bullshit" and ripped it all down!!!

Congrats! Won't be long now until you can smoke your own! Not quite for your birthday, but a little more patience with a slow perfect dry/cure will be well worth the wait!!!!

I don't know why, but I hate harvest. Even in my vegetable garden, I hate the harvest. I guess by harvest time, I'm tired of it.

    Finally

Alas, BB, you have reached the promised land! Now the most impatient part...DRYING AND CURING! I chopped and trimmed mine last week, then I let them air dry for a 3-4 days before stuffing the glass jars. I thought I fucked up too when I lost the delicious smell letting them dry...but gladly, I was wrong! Like drl said, it goes away then comes back. Things are getting pretty mouthwatering, let me tell you!

All in all, I pulled a little over a 1/2 LB this time around with 4 plants. Game on...HA!

    Peace,

Dude! That thing looks super dank and sticky! Nice trim job too! :good job: :not-worthy: I wouldn't worry about the smell. Once it's dry enough to jar up it will start to stink again. Really nice man. You should be super proud of yourself. Enjoy the fruits of your labor. :thumbs-up: :passsit:

Very Nice BB. You should be proud of your self. You when from great looking plants to almost dead plants. ( the accident ) to great looking plant again just by doing what the experienced growers told you to do. Good job again my friend.

    JJB,

you got 4 oz/plant? how do you grow again? i wont come close to that i will be exstatic if i manage 1 zip per plant under a 400W hps on my forst grow... congrats on a killer yield...

    Scotty

    id welcome a concusson..lol

    Ras and MrG

i am so excited to see this stuff cured up... i hope its as tasty and effective as i hope... i just took her down from hanging and cut the individual stems off... then stuck it all in a brown paper bag that i will burp a few times a day... does that sound right??? i have as you said MrG all the GK Family to thank for the salvation of my harvest... you and Ras as well as RR have been true mentors and helped me keep it together when i thought all was lost... THAANK YOU GUYS

    Dix,

the great thing is that i still have 2 ladies approaching the end of flower so i didnt get that "sniff its over" feeling yet... not to mention i have round 2 fully on its way in the flower room... we are i week 2 of flower there and my G13xBW is aleady showing lil budlets... but shes a few days ahead of teh others... and i just put the Kandy Kush into flower on sat... as i only have room for 6 plants... and THANK YOU as you also played a HUGE role in encouraging me and supporting me... your the best

I believe you're supposed to put that PAPER grocery bag INSIDE a PLASTIC grocery bag. A paper bag alone wont 'seal' at all. Not a 100% sure, but I believe thats what I remember reading somewhere.

    As for my yield, hehe...

I didnt get 4oz/plant on all of them, only 2. MK tree gave me just under 1/4 lb, 110 gr. Sadhu tree yielded between 3 1/2 and 3 3/4 oz and the two 6" clones I threw in there just to see what happens gave me about 3oz, with 11-13gr top colas as big as my hand. All this does also include the remaining sample bud I had left at the time. Must be 2-4 gr unaccounted for too...HA!

Try taking a trip to the dollar store or spring for 12 mason jars with the 2 piece lid. Glassware makes all the difference I find. Tupperware just doesnt cut it.

    Peace,

    Setup

It seems like you have a well organized and thought out blue print. I agree with the fact that sealing up each section so that they are light proof will be the most important detail, but that should be an easy fix. I couldn't see any pics you may have posted, but from the sounds of things you should have a sweet setup for two sections in one area. The only advice that I can give you is to combat that skunky smell with everything from making your own filter for the air out put; using anything and everything from drier sheets bunched up inside the ducting to glade plug-ins. Sounds like a sweet little setup!! Good luck with the green thumb!:new_alien:
