For some strains yes, sannie mentions them on a few of his,also I'm not doing a long veg, I only vegged for 3 weeks and now I'm a week into flower I been pinching them to keep them small as this experiment is under the old set up so i have a limited space to work with. i have approx 6 weeks to go, I'm not expecting but 15 grams a plant I hope, and I hope to have around 20 gals, and Of course get clones going though if i had 300 dollars.....nevermind Some can get 30 grams a plant.
In my ex(only four grows), it appears to me that about one out of five seedlings is male, often just one of six. That aint bad odds. Say you have 12 planrs. Chances are, two MAYBE three, possibly four if you're unlucky will be male. From what Ive read inn here, a lotta times even pricey "fem" seeds dont guarantee they will ALL be female. So, for my bucks, it aint worth it to boy the fems. Also, way back when I first started reading the lit, I read an article saying you can encourage more fems by keeping your germinating and seedling temps on the low end (cooler), say 70-72. Article also said using distilled water for germing and watering seedlings helps. I dunno if any of this is true, but I follow those suggtwestions anyway, LOL. If I think about it, it makes perfect sense that in Nature, about one of five or six plants would be male. That male could easily spread his pollen over five or six fems which would then all produce a gazzillion seeds....guaranteeing the success of the species survival. Dixie
This time im feeling lucky , I have a feeling there going to be more gals that males last time it was soooo hot and out of 13 2 were girls Now its like 60 if that up there and its going to get colder as the lights are on during the day for security so no heat at the coldest time at night. Hope it does not get too cold to fast here , i have 6 weeks to go But in my cab with the lights on its around 70ish. Just depends we have had clouds and rain for a week, when its sunny it warms up nice in thereand stays that way for a while but now its cool as a cucumber 54 maybe. I hope i dont have to put a heater up there
