I think those lights give off a lot of heat.

    I'd be chopping some wood

Let me say that 8" vortex 745 cfm that's f'n serious. The guys up here at the Cranberry HTG are cool cats they always bullshit and give free samples of different nutes and shit. They don't mess around either i took up a bad ballast they tested it with a bulb then went and grabbed one off the shelf. If you talk to them they will hook you up. Cj is who i usually talk to the other dude always looks real fuckin ripped you gotta speak his language. All grow ops are a constant project. I'm still settin up my own shit. Good Luck to ya! DSP

  3. Called HTG new one is on the way... My friend has a spare 1000watter for me, picking it up tonight...had them under the "plant" flood light for 1 cycle, will have them back under HPS tonight!

Two things - to chime in on an earlier question about venting through the window as opposed to the ceiling - you don't want your intake too close to your exhaust, such that it might suck in previously exhausted air.

And check that 1000 watter! Can't plug that bulb into a 400W ballast.

Its true that all grow ops are projects. I love projects!

Keep it up. You're doin great!

  5. I got a 1000w phillips bulb today to throw in as I wait for my replacement and then i will swap that out and keep it as a spare.

Lifes been a bit hectic this week, so I havent got around to rigging up a good exhaust, for now I just have a fan sucking air out of the room and blowing into the house. I built one of those muffin fan odor removal fan from the DIY section, and its GREAT. The girls were starting to get a bit skunky and now I cant smell a thing throughout the house

Back on track, probably get some pics saturday with a good cam so i can stop using my cell

I see two probs here. 1 your walls are fricken yellow yuck should be white reflects better then anything. 2 seedlings and clones dont like alot of light. 1000 watts way to much, try 30 watts till they shoot up and get to be deep green and soft leaves. my clones got a 30 watt light on them now bout 1.5 feet above them plants look beautiful deep green and soft leaves just perfect. I wait till they hit bout 7 or 8in before turning on big lights. idk thats how I do it with fantastic results every time.

  7. I got a light for the clones last night, setting it up today, 2 4' fluros, 30 watts each

  8. Did some tending to the garden today. I set up my 2 4'' fluro clone set up in a large closet...Im pretty sure that this will become my veg area in the next few weeks.

The plants have really went crazy this last week, even with the day of less then adequate light...so here we go...

I took a dozen clones, so some of them got trimmed up a bit....A few of them are getting quite leggy. I think I am gonna veg for another week...maybe 2 and then switch to flower. At that point, I am hopefully getting another 1k hps to rig up in there, should be fun!

As always, any comments or suggestions are welcome!

Nice plants man. I agree with you on the vegging thing... those need some bigger branches.

  10. Yeah, the rate of growth over the past week has been pretty big, im hoping over the next week or 2 they will grow a good bit. I wanna try some LST, but with the ones in the bag, im not quite sure how that would work well

Definitely start bending those tall ones and get that flouro right down on top of-em. If you don't you're going to end up with a very uneven canopy that will be difficult to light properly.

    Good work so far RG.

    cheers,

  12. The fluro fixture is in a closet in another room and its just for the clone set up, as of right now, the room has 1, 1000w hps....but...

The guy that got me into this a while back, just had a bad feeling with the way things were going, too many people knew about his op, so he decided to take it down and I now have a 2nd 1000w hps fixture. This weekends plan is to get the 2nd light hung, and see where we go from there!

  13. Well I took the leap into LST....Most of the ladies (the bigger ones atleast) have been tied down a bit, we'll see how the next week goes...

LSTing is the best method by far IMO. You should see some excellent results within a week.

  15. Well the 1000watt kid I was gifted for the time being, has one of these style reflectors, seems to disperse the light ALOT better then my old reflector.

I think im going to reduce the number of plants in my future crops, down to 10, and move my other 1000w to a 4x4 closet to use as a veg area.

The LST'ing seemed to be doing the trick. My noobish-ness caused me "over bend" a few of the plants, and the stems "creased" but they hardened up and are growing good again.

My temps have been pretty good, Day time temps hover around 80 (and has jumped up to about 83-84 when its hotter out), lights off temps have been like 75ish, humidity levels have been between 30-60%

  16. Well plants got moved around a bit...so showing exact before and after photos is a bit of a PITA, so just a few quick photos

    And an overview

The buckets are due for a flush sunday...after that, Id really like to get them into flower. I'll see how things are looking then, if not, I guess I will be waiting another week. So far, been vegging from clone from 6/18

  17. Well the weather has been hot and humid, and we are about 5 days into flower now. My humidity was hovering at about 70% no matter if lights were on or not, and temps as high as 84.

So I went to cruising craigslist this morning, found a 5200btu a/c for $40, offered the chick $30 and got it home tonight, hook it up, and my temps are now 75 and humidity down into the 30's. The a/c also has a "dry" feature, so im wondering if it has a built in dehumidifier, im gonna have to run the model number and see.

Flowering is going good, already seeing the little white hairs

An a/c works by removing the moisture from the air.

  19. SMARMY

    SMARMY Cuban Bee

have you got your exhaust set up yet. the a/c might get your temps down but you are not doing anything about bringing fresh air in.

  20. I am still using the same fresh air intake as I have been (a dual intake window fan), I haven't set up the scrubber yet for exhaust, and I still have large fan sucking air out of the room and exiting into my kitchen. This will have to change soon, as the plants are starting to get skunky and the wife doesn't like it much haha.

And yeah, I know the ac will lower the mositure normally. The unit I got has 3 settings, fan, cool, and dry
