Jesus! And i thought a few acres was to close for neighbors. If I can't walk out and piss off the porch with no worries then they're to close. Might be cause I just don't like people, but if I had to live that close I'd kill somebody most likely.
Yeah and if I wasn't in a med state and good friends with my elderly Mexican neighbors I would never attempt to grow a plant outdoors. I only mention that they are Mexican cuz they are old school farmers from Mexico and they could care less if someone grows or smokes some weed. Where they are from weed is part of the agriculture. Farmers grow some weed along with their other crops, it's normal. I hate people too. My other neighbors are further away on the other side and behind me is acres of empty land. We're actually semi rural where I live. Lots of neighbors have horses and goats etc. Myself I keep chickens on the property. I'd have horses and goats if my lot was bigger.
I hear ya! Sounds a lot like where I grew up, if you're in Cali you ever hear of Elsinore? Rural/whatever city is. I lived up against the costal mtns. With all the woods behind me. Couldn't ever finish a grow there cause I was young and dumb. I do remember several big busts up on the hills though.
Wow what year is that old dodge? Is a camper? My uncle used to have one when I was a kid.:coool: Maybe tack up a tarp along the fence to keep prying eyes peeking thru the cracks?
I ain't worried about the neighbors they're in their 60's and 70's and we're good friends. We watch out for them and deal with any neighborhood hooligans that might give them grief. They are the BEST neighbors you could ask for. Quiet, but friendly. Aware and alert but mind their own business. We exchange produce and baked goods all the time. Go have coffee and chat with them on the weekends sometimes. Very cool down to earth people. The husband doesn't even speak english and I speak very limited spanish, but we communicate anyway. asssit: The Dodge is a '76 Itasca Motorhome. I bought it a few years back off of craigslist for $300 to overhaul it and never got to finish it. It runs and drives but needs a trany seal and the entire interior refurbished. I started gutting it but I'm gonna junk it soon and we're buying a diesel. The old V8's are just too expensive to run these days. It gets like 8 miles to the gallon. I'm keeping the stove out of it and that's about it. asssit:
Its good to have cool neighbors. That gas mileage is horrible with todays gas prices, I would love to have a VW westfalia from the early 90's
Can I participate in the grow off? I can't grow pot anymore - live in the city in a rented duplex. Alls I have is an herb garden. I have a bunch of old smart pots I was going to throw out on my (unfortunately shady) patio and load up with strawberries and chard and rosemary and stuff. I just bought the starts today.
LOL, Res, I was just talking to my wife the other day about people that choose to live in that type of environment. I'd choose to live somewhere else pdq! To each their own I guess.
Yikes res, how far north are you? Hell it's may and you still have snow, no thank you. I'll remember this next time I birch about the heat.

Alright I'll quit posting same pics in my grow and this one, Just happy with my results so far. I've been taking little trips around the yard, you know, looking at this woodpile, poking at shit, being nonchalant and all. So far they aren't visible over any fence I built and I haven't weed whacked the chain link sides of the garden fence either. It's getting close though, I have some lattice scraps i can put up on the chain link, but plant heights and bushiness are gonna kill me I'm thinking. I can't put up a 10' fence either cause that's just like putting a sign up saying "HEY IM DOING SOMETHING I DON'T WANT ANYONE TO SEE". Going to the folks tomorrow for Mother's Day and while I'm there in gonna see what the ole' pops has that he's willing to part with for more security. God I'm getting paranoid!
:rofl6: You haven't seen anything yet! It only gets worse. But I must say that it does look like you have a pretty good spot. As long as you don't do anything real dumb you should be ok. Hang in there man, you can do it!
Oh god I can only imagine when there like 5- however feet tall and budding :5eek:, I know it's gonna smell and I have no idea what to do about that. They've gone back into veg and I know all the ones left are females but when I had them out before the longer days and they started to flower I could smell it the second I walked out back. I'm almost regretting doing this many, but it's to late to turn back now. Just gonna take it easy and try not to do something rash or stupid along the way. asssit:
A simple thing is to just plant some smelly shit around the plants. Rosemary and Thyme come to mind as well as cat nip. Help regulate what people think they are smelling at least. I also find that tomatoes have a strange smell to them, but that might just be me.
HahahahahA, for some reason I started humming Simon and garfunkel while I read this. I hadn't thought of some garden herbs thanks. I know what you mean about tomatoes having a smell, it's kinda hard to describe it, I have four of them planted in with the MJ. oh, I also have 12 marigolds planted amongst the garden as I've heard that they help keep some pests away, not bad to have a little color out there either.
Plant some mint by your back door where you'll have to brush past it. Every time somebody comes or goes through the door it'll erupt a fresh mint aroma. I keep one next my garage door.
Well damn, damn, damn, and double damn! I planted mint by a leaky faucet at my pops when I was living with him and its taken over. I keep forgetting to snag a few cuts from it to plant here. Only problem with the Backdoor thing though is I'm in a mobile palace and have a large covered deck in back. I guess I could just have it in pots though huh. Just so happens I have some nice looking ones left from some aloe Vera that DID NOT like it when I put it outside to hopefully transplant. Didn't know to harden things first before harsh sunlight.
