PD, the light green tops look like a magnesium deficiency. They also look a little droopy from being over watered.
Just the flash, it was nighttime. They look fine in normal light. Except for the one. It's also rained here for 6 days straight. Nothing to worry about.
My poor plant wasn't used to the intensity and heat of the midsummer here in Souther Cali and she's gotten a little fried. A lot of the undergrowth got burnt but there are a bunch of new chutes and growth so she'll bounce back. once she grows out a little I'll post a couple pics of her progress.
Finally Threw A Few Plants Out Well, I finally got a few plants out. A month late and I lost a bunch that were going to go out, because my timing and preparations were all fucked up this year. Oh well, hopefully it won't be a total loss. Two Black Widow and a Shit in the foreground. Two Beyond the Brain in the rear. I had been planning to put out only BtB, as it's sat dom and everything but sat dom gets fucked by these damn little caterpillars, but my planning didn't go well, and other things....
Looks like I'll be able to play the game this year. Had some plants waiting for garden spots that needed repotting and seem to have found a home on the porch. Some Trainwreck, Sno Cap, Lemon Thai, LemonBerry, Dabney Blue and a Widow Mango spear will be staying for the season.
Nice little collection of plants there Res. I am jealous of you guys with Trainwreck. I have a bunch of extra clones that I think I am gonna put outside in a few days. I need to harden them off so they don't get fried like my GSC mom that I put out. I have some Tahoe, some more GSC, some Purple Diesel. Should be interesting. They'll be in 2 gal. smart pots.
What Ras said about the trainwreck, I'd kill a some bitch for that! Cheesequake... Cheesequake, this one has made a good recovery so far for the short time it has been in the soil... Jack The Ripper... Cheesequake... Solarizing the soil, prepping for the greenhouse...
Hey what to you guys use for mites in your outdoor gardens? My daughter who lives in CA just came back from vacation to find 3 out of 25 or so plants infested with mites. I've not seen any pics but from her description I'd say there's tenting going on on at Least 2. They've just started flowering about a week ago, what are her options? Thanks Duc
Duc the first year I grew outside here I got hit hard by mites. I tried all kinds of stuff and nothing worked, much less kept them in check. The last two years I have gone completely organic ( I used useless formula first year) and put praying mantis cases and lady bugs in the garden on a weekly basis. The last two years the bug infestation has been negligible. At the bud stage, I would try some DE dusted on the plants every two to three days (mites have a 72 hour breeding cyle, give or take). She could also put praying mantis case and ladybugs out (de may kill them). You can get both here in CA at Ace Hardware. This bean plant got infested... And my weed was right next to it...
Here in North Mexico, I use a fire ant killer for the yard that has spinosad in it, so I don't usually have to worry about other critters.
Spinosad was one of the things I tried when I got hit. It killed everything but the mites. Once that happens the mites take complete control and resistance is futile. Your plant willl be assimilated. This year for my garden it seems to be the thrips that are trying to get a foothold. They are failing for the most part cause the good bugs are getting them.
Im not sure why, but in tx i only had an issue early on with pests, might be cause of the sun and heat. During summer and till harvest all i worry about is grasshoppers.
Start watching for moths f around. They lay eggs in your bud and it's too late once you notice it. They will devastate a plant. I had a pheno of blue chocolate last year that got hit by them and I probably tossed out a pound of weed thanks to the little fuckers. For some reason they stayed away from the other plants, just the one pheno of blue chocolate that I called BO pheno cause it smelled like weed rolled in the worst body odor you could imagine. This is what they look like, the eggs hatch into a worm which eats the stem, that kills the whole bud. This is safe to use for the moth, even on buds. The active ingredient is BT, you could drink this and it won't hurt you but it will kill the caterpillars dead.
