Stay safe brother. We don't need you turning into Dorthy now. :eusa_eh: that's a weird picture in my head. You don't have red shoes do you?:roffl:

Hahahahahahahasha, no, no red shoes or little dog. That storm blew over with lots of rain, thunder and lightning, high winds, but NO TORNADOS! With what happened in Oklahoma and north tx today I feel really lucky. If that storm was about 75 miles farther south I would of been hammered by weather. At this point it can stop raining for all I care. My garden is getting to much water and this clay doesn't drain properly. Waterloggin em. I do believe this log could use some updated pics btw. I've got a vid or two on it but pics are always good. I'll put some up tomorrow, it's to dark right now for good pics.

Sad to say but clay is horrible. I'm feeling for you :( I would of tilled as much of your dads compost pile as possible with a yard or 2 of bag soil

Ya the clay sucks. I didn't know that the compost pile was doing so well at the time, I had already planted. Plus I started the damn thing, just so happens he improved it with adding a fourth side. Next time(if all my equipment is working) ill get it in better shape soil wise. Started my own compost pile here from grass clippings, left over dirt from soil mixing, and kitchen veggie scraps. If I can keep the dog out of it I think it's gonna compost nicely. Tossing around worm farm too, gathering supplies for that ATM.

When I go on vacation, I'll be more then happy to come out and help you dig some of that clay out. Only if you buy the beer and roll a couple up

You're on! I warn you, not sure you realize what you'd be getting into. This shit don't dig, it sticks to shovels and feet when wet and is harder than concrete when dry. My only blessing is that where I tilled for the garden half of it is nice soil made up of broken down grass, the other half sucks.

So after a few shitty pics the roommate sent me its not as bad as I thought. Some overwatering but no rain next week so I'll be ok, the worst looking ones I was going to pull anyway. Got some in pots to replace them.

Well this morning I dug the three smallest and sorriest plants up. The clay soil is acting like a reverse pot if you know what I mean. The soil I used in the holes was putrid and I actually checked my septic drain line to make sure I didn't have a leak. So, I took a bunch of gravel and hydroton and filled the bottom 3-4 inches with it. I then planted some new girls in the others place. I repotted the ones I dug up hoping they will recover. Man I hate this clay, and it's only bad in about half the garden. Oh, I also got a worm farm going. I'll post some pics or maybe a vid later, right now it's beer bong and couch for a while.

I went and filmed this update. It's easier, and I can explain in my own words.

Ya, it's worse than I thought. I hope the hydroton and gravel bottoms help. As long as the rain holds off for a while ill be ok. It's the all day soakings that are killing me. It's been almost every couple days it'll rain for hours.

I think raised soil beds would be an answer to your clay problem. My whole back yard is clay, so I can't even do a veggie garden without building beds. Good luck with your grow.

Oh yea, you should change your name to ''Big Country".:roffl: Definitely have a southern drawl going.

Thanks man, I'm leaning towards raised next time. If I could I think I would change my name to big country, I use it other places. I don't believe changing names is allowed though so I'd have to start a new membership and that's just not cool to do. Good suggestion though, still freaked me out when you said it:roffl:

Looks ok. I guess. Hard to process that big a pic. You need to do something re: size of photos.

Is there an edit option on here I'm not aware of? I've tried to adjust the size using apps and editors but they all seem to show up huge like that. Unless I attach using the manage thing in the reply box. But then they might show up upside down or something strange like that.

You're probably right ccrete, I just can't bring myself to do it yet. If I topped them can I root the stem even if its as big around as a quarter?

So I'm gonna top and trim some of the girls up. I'd like to try and root the tops if possible, gonna try anyways. And trim the lower inner leaves up to allow more light penetration. I'll put some picks up afterward. And I'll try to make them smaller and more visible, hopefully you'll be able to see them then mr. A:roffl::passsit:
