did you ever serve in the military? why should someone asking do you want fries with that deserve more than a kid whom instead of spending of summer trip getting laid, spends it getting yelled out because he put his left sock on first, not his right one, then risks his life for a country when half the country hates him just because he choose to serve.


look, I'm not here to beat anyone up, I run a company and hire people...I usually start at 14.50 or so, then bump up to about 16 in the first year. But I don't have a revolving door, people that stay with us for 5-10 years make 50+ a year, and even more than that if in a position that takes work off management. To me 15 hr is laughable, outright laughable, you're fucking up my pool of people to call on if that makes sense. McD has to do that because they are constantly training employees which costs money, and when you walk in there, there's 30 employees but only 5 working.....your 15 hr is going to harm the poor way more that middle class or rich. IF you don't understand that then you should read up on the subject

I agree that ceos make too much, tech my only bosses have titles that start with C.... ceo, cfo, coo, etc. They make what i make with another zero at the end. I'm not mad at them,, I strive to be them, thus my hard work so that i can achieve that goal. But most (i stretch the word most) put in there time, the only officer I actually report to spends about half his year on vacation in Europe...I want that one day....I do his job while hes there....but that's training me to take over his positition when he retires.


Take GK here, we come from all walks of life, but here we openly share a skill set that can earn anyone over 100k a year. I'd say 9/10 members here could easily make that potential if in a legal market. But we treat everyone the same, one plant or 100 plants, we're all the same and we share what we know to help each other. No one is asking for something for free, most are just looking for information to better themselves and their craft.


If you want to make money, you can....you gotta want to make it.

Less than 1% of people over 25 make min wage, and raising min wage actually harms that age group.....so people that actually have worked and have experience should be forced down a few rungs so college kids and teens can have more


Because you do realize that someone making 15/hr currently which is roughly double min wage will be knocked down to min wage.....so that's ok in your book? or does everyone in the country get an 8/hr raise? where exactly do you draw the line? not roughly, exactly where do you draw the line?


BTW, at what point do you think people should be responsible for their own actions? Do you think it's ok to have children whom you can't support nor provide a healthy enviorment for?


Surely if you honestly believe what you are saying, if we raise the national min wage to $15 then we should be able to do away with all social programs right? No more food stamps, or welfare etc......because they won't be needed...because the working poor won't be poor, hell actually they won't be poverty level by a LONG shot....so if you are still in poverty you should starve?? because you don't want to work??? would that be ok??

btw, you push these programs, have you seen obamacare, united healthcare is walking away after losing 650 million this year....so i guess some of bernies fans will be happy, they'll no longer have health insurance through a provider, but will get medicaid instead. I for one like being able to go to the hospital or doctor that i choose

 

No, I don't think working people should live in poverty, I also think all little girls should have ponies, all little boys should have puppies and no one should ever get cancer.


But I really don't understand how putting more working people in poverty and eliminating min wage jobs helps people. Even Gov Brown acknowledged that 15/hr will harm many of the rural parts of california and stressed that the 15/hr bill may be amended in the near future (basically after election cycle....but hey, some people refuse to see that for what it is).

 

You'll never see that, unless Clinton is absolutely scared that she will lose the election to Trump and needs more support from the college aged kids.

Did you see Obama is traveling to Saudi Arabia this week? Do you know why??? I'm sure you've seen the push to have victims of 9/11 sue the Saudi Government in Federal Court....Saudis have just responded that this will cash in the almost $ 750,000,000,000 if we allow it....so Obama is going over to lick the king's asshole so our economy doesn't collapse.


The reason I bring this up is because China owns twice as much debt, if Sanders had his way that would quadruple in a matter of a year or two....then China owns the US. We would have to have WWIII just not to starve.

15 hr is a joke, it actually hurts millions and helps a few thousand burger flippers. Welders start out at norepinephrine out of high schiol, why in the world should I pay someone 200k to study something they'll never get a job in (bachelor in liberal art) abd then pay even more money when they ask...do you want fries with that.

And having a policy such as 15/hr that everyone, dems and reps alike agree will hurt biz and cause job loss is just absurd in my book...I don't know how that's me declining. Disagreeing with a policy that a small minority of people have is ok, it really is....specially when that policy actually hurts those it claims it will help. You claim millions will be helped, but offer no proof of that.


Notice you haven't said how 15/hr will help people, i have pointed out why I think it will hurt them. Companies will just demand more production out of employees with less benefits and also pass the increase along to consumers which not only negates any gains, but it harms those without income. Believe I have very little sympathy for a college age kid that wants more money at the cost of seniors or the disabled that are forced to live on a fixed income....unless you are saying they get more money too....but then we are back at the question, where exactly do you draw the line?? should we double welfare also??


To me, less government is better, and no, I'm not saying anarchy. What I am saying is Im not owned by the government, the government doesn't get to decide what I do with my life. I honestly believe that some would absolutely love to live life that way. I also feel that the majority of these people support Bernie Sanders because that is what bernie is offering. He's not offering a chance of people exceeding in life, he's offering what eastern europe had for 50 years. I find that idea repulsive.


Even with college, and this notion it should be free.....why should i have to pay a few hundred thousand for someone to study liberal arts that has ZERO job prospects in that field, when people can learn a trade and do extremely well at a young age.

About?? I think your impression about me is incorrect, because some of us that oppose policy do for reasons other than racism, sexism, classism, etc. I also think your view of 15 hr is wrong for the reasons I stated...it doesn't help, it hurts the poor.


I'm not rich by any means, but I'm comfortable where I'm at in the food chain and clawing my way up.....and I was raised poorer than you I'm sure. If you haven't lived off rainwater and shit in outhouse because no indoor plumbing and closest store was 1.5 hours driving away....I don't think you know what poverty is not how to help those in there.
