How stable is pH with the tea?

Do more research... 99% of bacteria you would be exposed to is nothing more than the everyday germs your exposed too.... when u wake up in the am and get out of bed u expose ur self to the same germs any way... and I have looked far and wide and I can hardly find people who have reported any health issues and the few I found there's no proof per say... if u were haviing issues perhapz u have a weak imune system..... I my self have extremely bad asthma and iive made about 60-70 batches by now and am completely fine!

And there's nothing that can harm your plants its all beneficial

Does not effect my ph unless you have an infection ... initially when treating an infection it may flux for a few days becuase of the bennies killin off the bad shit..

Other than that its doesn't seem to effect it ...

I'll be running the tea in a side by side in about two weeks, I read the tea is in affective until a root zone is developed, what do you do until one is?

I have used it for years. I bought a gallon way back to kill some mega slime ,works decent. If you have a bad algae or slime problem it seemed to me you deffinatly have to scrub clean , but once clean it works real good as a preventitive measure. If you overdose you will hurt your plants , and if your adding it to a ressy with an airstone get ready for bubbles to over flow.

Yeh, it don't foam as much at 1ml/10gal but to kill the initial infection with 3ml/10gal for 24hr it will, the foam dose subside.

I figure I have about 12 hours into internet research on QA compounds. I did this several years ago in a quest to find out why this stuff seemed to take my breath away, long before I'd ever heard about Physan 20.

I've worked in the food industry my entire adult life and have been exposed to QA on a daily basis the whole time. It didn't bother me at all until about 5 years back. Now it's respirator time for me. We use it mixed with water in a pressure washer, it gets atomized and everybody breathes it. Some of our production people are bothered by it, most aren't. But there are quite a few folks at work that are annoyed by it's presence, but just not enough to bitch about it.

One thing that really bothers me about all the MSDS sheets I've looked at regarding many similar QA products is that they seem to disagree on the "hazardous decomposition products" that QAs produce. None of these MSDS sheets say "it just turns into nitrogen."

At work we use a lot of pretty intense chemicals to clean our equipment. None of those bother me at all. But once the QA sanitizer is added to the mix, it's a different story.

Serenity, I'm not sure I understand your comments about bacteria and immunity. For me, when it's in the air, I can't breathe and when it's not, I can. It's only a matter of unplugging a pump to test my response. Not really a scientific study, but it's what I'm stuck with. Is breathing airborne QA the same as dunking roots and then smoking the finished product? I have no idea, but I figure the less exposure I have, the better. Along those lines, when I smoke some bud, I want to know, for sure, that there isn't any QA involved. Unfortunately, my local dispensary can't or won't tell me if Physan 20 is used when growing their product. It's one reason my growing skills are improving.

Now you can say that you know someone who has health issues related to QA.

Sorry I thought u were talking about microbial tea that's why I was wondering what the hell u were saying about QA in it.. lol I was really high off that underdawg og lol ... that's the exact reason I use microbial tea solution to treat water against any root dieses or rot.. but you broke it down a bit more in detail.... again I apoligize read it wrong brother ... like I said I have had bad asthma my whole life so I know alll abiut breathing problems ...I'm stupid though because I contnue to smoke cigs for some dumb reason even when I have to use my inhaler bfore a butt!!! I'm quiting soon though its tough...

Anys ways check out microbial tea. Perhaps mention it to the growers who suply you ...

I'm actually trying it out now on some seedlings ...always waited until they were rooted before. I read that its used successfully in cloning so I'm assuming its also good to use in seedlings... but I'm on like day 5-6 and I see the tip of the tap root coming down... so ill let you know in anoth 3-4 days or so when I start to see more growth ... I'm growing out Kong right now ..

And I wouldn't worry about over feeding them that's mucb it takes quite a lot to over do it and if you see blackish browing ish stuff growing on your air stones don't worry its just the bennies housing up :smokin:

Also .. are you putting your humus or worm casting in a strainer while it brews or straining after brewed?

Also to any of the mods ..do you think we could get this going as a sticky, a continuos thread for every one with root dieses or rot? It is a comon issue amongst most beginer and even moderate level growers using hydro ponic systems.

Yeah, I read about the black buildup, I'm familiar with how bacteria looks in a res from when the pythium set in. :angry4:

I have been doing a lot of research on 'naturual' ways to handle this crud without making teas, as its a major inconvenience and have read from multiple people about using PondZyme(sold at pet stores), with bontanicares aquashield and having as great as or better success then using the tea, and whatever microbes are in pondzyme apear to inhabit your plants better because people claim to be using it everyone two weeks. One person claims he was using Aquashield with pondzyme, now only uses Pondzyme and has no problems, another guy who runs a 250gal res says if he don't use the aquashield with the pondzyme he has problems, Both of these people are ex-tea brewers. After doing some research I believe there is something in Aquasield that feeds the little bennys so they can stay established.

    +1 on the sticky. :redbong:

    I agree...

However using aquashield by it self is effective but I'd rather brew becuase its way more cost effective than using it solo... a lot of people would rather spend more money and be lazy... I personally don't mind a 48 hr brew... I do it ahead of time and it stores in fridge for 7-10 days...

I initially dosed them with just aqua when I first started brewing.. becuase my brown slime infection was bad.. and it called for like a quarter of the container for one treatment... now witj brewing I'm merely use a cap full to create 2 gallons of tea which is much more diverse in beneficial bacteria... sure aquashield is effective in battling root diasease but it is no where near as diverse as the tea. And diversity is what your going for becuase each group of benneficial bacteria does different things than the others.

All in all after hours and hours researching on the best cure for cynna I tried multiple different things and found that the tea waa the most effective and way cheaper then using the products bu themselves in the system. I lost two crops to the son of a bitch and a lot of time dismantling my system and cleaning... not to mention my grow room was down for like 6-7 months becuase of the two lost crops and the waisted electricity on my lights.. ugh it waa a night mere for me for a while .... no sterilizing would knock this thing down... truly aggrivating..

Yeah its a SOB to treat, I'm happy with the physan at 1ml/10 gal, my plants seem to love the nitrogen it gives off, very green, and i doubt the price can be beat. but I want to see if using bennies will actually increase root growth, so I have just ordered pondzyme and some aquashield will be reporting back soon.

Cool let me know what you think... it seems to boost the health of the roots for me .. I'm getting fuzzy what roots like I never had I mean FUZZy ..lol any ways good luck and let me know how u make out !

Today starts day 1 of the aquashield/pondzyme combo, the first 12hrs are no nutes to allow bennies time to establish, will keep you folks updated.

Ok, well over night pH went from 5.8 to 6.8, added nutes ph returned to 5.8, let's hope it stays.

So dirty on the one seedling I was giving the tea too from almost germination... no noticeable diff up to now ... if any thing maybe a tad slower till a few days ago... now that the root system is a bit bigger it seems to be benefiting from it.... I notice the last 2 days the growth rAte is increasing alot..

I don't think I will introduce them right away u think going forward ill wait until there a week old unless necessary.

Keep updating on yours! I'm interested to see how it turns out!

    Heres the update!

Well Im happy to say after adding the nutes my ph stabilized at 6.1 for 3 days solid! also no slime or pythium! :) ... until today because i changed up my veg unit a little so had to start fresh. So once again im giving them 12hrs of just aquashield/pondzyme, after which I will be adding back my nutes again along with some sweet, I contacted botanicare and they said add sweet after a day or two and my bennies will live much longer requiring them to be added less often, also carbs are good for plants at any age. This will also be my first time giving it to them in veg, probably going tto see some beffy looking stalks..

On a side note im going to say that the new explosive crystal white root growth is purely coincidence and has nothing to do with the bennies. :kidding:

I will have to say I am satisfied with this combo with how little pondzyme is needed it should last most of my life and the aquashield isn't too expensive. Beats brewing tea!, still more costly then physan, but for now ill continue further looking for anymore noticeable changes.

Sorry no pictures guys! would not be a wise decision on my part! :thumbs-up:
