I gotta disagree THC. what good were they during Milosevic and his ethnic cleansing? What about Rwanada's genocide? What about Pol Pot? What about North korea? Venezuela? Africa's slave trade, race wars, mass murder, poverty, disease? What has the UN done about them? Nothing. Nothing at all. Not a damn thing. And if you say they gave him money, dont even try it because 60% of the Un's funding is paid for by American tax dollars. America has done more for any country then the UN has ever done in its 50+ years of self-proclaimed government of the world. It has failed its objective to maintain peace "and" security. Lets face it, Libya is the head of the Human Rights commitee and Iraq of the disarmenent commitee. Its leader is from a third world country and is completly bias. He has turned the UN into the worlds largest Red-Cross/Debating society. It currently has over 90 resolutions it refuses to enforce, and is used as a stage for terrorists to spew thier anti-semetic garbage and act like nothing short of the nazi party. They tried to impose an International Tax, so all productive countries will have to pay them to support the third world countries, even if those countries support terror or attack you.
About what you said tho, the invasion of inspectors. Hans blix said yesterday that even if they had all the time in the world, he doubts any real progress would have been made, especially after seeing saddams scuds, that he claimed he didnt have, being fired right at allied forces. interesting opinion SS, I disagree however, where were we during rwanda, cambodia, north korea and venezuela? Didn't we withhold funds for years? All of this UN mandate crap is just that, crap. Until we are seriously looking for peace then we will never find it, no matter what form of controls we wish to place. Are you for or against peace? Our government, no matter what we think is in the business of business and until we put a regime in place that puts peace first we will be doomed to repeat this slaughter. "We're freeing the Iraqi people", why did we support Saddam in the first place enabling him to take control- good business. I like the fact that my tax dollars go to feed people, what I don't like is when my tax dollars are used to further business interests.
