injury prone Many studies have been conducted on handgun ownership. If you have a hand-gun in your home, you are more likely to die from a firearm injury. Just saying.
I hear ya WW.........I'd kinda like to have a steal-off with a few local theives.......see who can get in and out with as little bleeding as possible, whoever dies lasts wins:roffl:
I will say one thing about dogs. Sometimes they may surprise you as far as how aggressive they'll be to a stranger when nobody is home. I had a n aquaintance that had this purebred chow that showed every indication, and he fully believed, that this dog was the best guard dog he'd ever had. Mean looking thing. I call him up one day and tell him I'm heading out of town for work and if he has any smoke. He says he does but it's at his house in his stashbox which is in the water heater closet in his backyard. He's not gonna be home for several hours. I told him I could swing by and get it, but he swears his dog will kill me when I go in the backyard. Being that I really wanted to get blazed and wasn't willing to wait "several hours", I went over there and with my best Cesar Milan relaxed dominance attitude I walked right through the gate and straight to the closet. The dog was going nuts barking and kinda lunging at me, but I wasn't nervous and I didn't make any quick movements. I called his bluff and SCORE!! :flyy: My buddy couldn't believe it :roffl: I shattered his image of his dog. Unless dogs are trained to protect property, most times they are protecting their people. They may act way different when no one is home and they have no backup.
MY all time favorite.........Sawed off pump shotgun Its a Point and Shoot........hell a newbie can kill with it. For home defense I keep turkey shot in mine,,,,,,,that way God forbid any crazy shit the shot dont go thru the walls. A face full of number 4 shot will RUIN ones day
I only read the first page but stay safe and protect your family and home brutha. I def advise a high power revolver for the lady and a 12g shotgun for yourself.
i must have that rifle in the first video useless for my house. ill put it in my front window with a real life blow up doll and leave it there. wonder if that's even legal???
Thats the Barret m82 .50 BMG. If a bullet hits your hand, it'll tear your arm off. Too bad it costs about $10k, and then another $3-5K for the optics and sighting systems.
Chows are nasty Chows that are used for protection work best in packs, your friend just wasn't using the breed correctly. Same thing happened with me AJ but with a much different outcome. My step-brother had 4 chows and all I can say is that I still have puncture scars on both my arms (23 in all) from when I went in his house to grab my bag when he wasn't home. Little fucking bastards knew me too. Nasty little mutts, good for protection and they don't draw unwanted attention like a pit or rotty might.
Thanks for all the suggestions. There are no children in the home so no worries on that. The wife and I are definitely getting a dog. We are even putting of security bars on the whole house , so that should prevent anyone from even trying to break in. We still would like some a gun for thr home and I want one for myself, just cuz I manage a bar /restaurant and sometimes I get out of work at 3am after just handling $20,000 in cash. So I just want to be safe just in case. i forgot to mention that they did catch one guy running out of my house with stolen property it just wasn't any of my stuff. So they must have been on a robbing spree that day.
Any dog will act differently in a pack situation. Dogs have a natural instinct to 'pack up' and when they do...their whole demeanor changes. It really doesn't matter the breed either. Dogs are more of a deterrent than anything else unless they are trained to attack an intruder. Mine are not trained but there are enough of them to make someone think twice about what they are about to do. They have NO idea if my dogs are trained or not and they make enough noise to put doubt in a man's mind. I have one on the front porch with nothing but a 3' barrier to keep her in, two in the house (one being a British Bulldog) and three in the back yard. They bark at anyone who doesn't belong including my woman's parents who live next door. I figure that strategic placing is as important as having the dogs themselves and being where they are I have a pretty wide perimeter covered. At the very least I know when someone is within 100 yards of my home. If they did manage to get in the house then they got me to worry about. My dogs may be scary but they don't have anything on how scary I can be. :admin:
Damn smarmy, that's some crazy shit. Herb is right, my dogs 1 on 1 are like lap dogs... you get all 5 together and they will tear some shit up, no joke.... They almost can't be controlled once they are all going after someone. Hell my pit/beagle mix will tear someone up super quick, if he doesn't know em. I used to have to have to put the dogs outside, let the person at the door in and make them sit on the couch, then let the dogs back in... if they are already sitting down and in the house then it was ok, but if they tried to walk in the door they would get vicious!
My buddies dad was a licensed dealer, he had one, it is a bad ass weapon perfectly suited for home protection. Its heavy as hell and kicks like a mofo. As for myself I like my Savage& Stevens 12ga pump. I had a break in several years ago, I didnt even have to leave the bed room to scare the guy off, the sound of a pump action charging was was enough to make the guy reconsider.
I aint clicked the links but i bet one of themk is the AA12 (or 13?)... its like a friggin machine shotgun,it fires defrag grenade bullets and all manner of cool shit.Snick first showed me it way back.It was getting tested on a military base in north carolina i think. What a gun...:eusa_drool: If i had to havea gun that would be it.Smarmy if your gonna be owning guns then it can only be an AK47Peaceotleaf:
man thats it....mine isnt a pro tho....i dont like it because it jams no matter what on the ninth and tenth round (not that id need to fire off an entire clip to stop someone, i swear im not that bad of a shot, but its annoying at the range)....im no gunsmith but ive taken it apart and cleaned the shit out of it, tried my best to clean up the magazine as well....tried different types of ammos and no matter what it jams, my guess is the spring on the magazine isnt feeding fast enough but like i said, im no gunsmith.....i will say i do like the single action trigger pull, that is not why i dont care for it....its pretty accurate too but i jus dont wanna deal with it anymore....a buddy of mines let me shoot his glock and i liked it better than the taurus so instead of takin it to the gunsmith id rather jus trade it off....spose everyone has their preferences.....still love my ruger tho.
