Summer Needs To Get Here Already!!!

I like Tzatziki sauce. It's great with curry chicken in pita bread with some alfalfa & radish sprouts & fresh tomatoes. Mmmm.

 

Thanks midnight Yeah peaches are excellent, gonna make so much cobbler this year. Tree is much better since the leaf curl is gone and also took a lot off one side that was shading the garden. I am going to be really sad when this tree dies.....which should be any time now since it is years past its 'lifespan'.


Eggplants are cool, I gotta write that down. That is something I forgot about completely.


Bje try making zucchini bread with the big ones. SO GOOD.


The peach tree last week. The majority will be perfect at the exact time when I am out of town for 10 days in a week. Of course.

The squash looking things are a cross between a yellow crook neck squash and a zuccini that I made by accident. Some red peppers, cucumbers and pablano chilis.





Jutras 1187 - I'm thinking the biggest one is around 400 to 600 pounds right now, I'm going to measure it in the morning and that will give me a weight that is accurate to about +/- five percent.

How did you make that cross? Did you hand pollinate one of the plants? Which one was the female flower, the crook neck or the zucchini? I have a bunch of acorn squash female flowers and no males. The baby squash just keep withering after not getting pollinated. Have you had any other hybrids before? I am interested in playing around with stuff like that....especially because I have more zucchini than I could ever eat.

 

The cross was unintentional Canna. I had yellow crook neck squash and zuccini growing last year. I let them die and compost in place at the end of the season last year. When something sprouted in that spot this year I let it go. That is what I ended up with.


I estimated the weight of two of my pumpkins with my giant pumpkin tape this morning. The smaller one estimates at 195 lbs and the larger one comes in at 375 lbs.

Ras that made me laugh And I love that song. I am 900 miles from those damn peaches right now and like 50% are going to rot on the tree...er ground.


It is an atrocity every year I am so sad.
