One small trick I have always liked is to lay those long 3 foot odd fish tank air rocks in along the bottom of the E&F tables.


Put em on the same timer as the nutie pump.


Also works with NFT but you need to be using the round (light proof) pvc pipes. For this you sort of have quite a deeper flood than the flat bed but the extra O2 from the bubblers give that little extra.


I cant say any of these work like gospel but hey, Im with JE here and just like a little tinkering.

 

Can't say I'm any more impressed with aquaponics than i am.


Hang those roots, and flow the nutes over the top, letting it run down them and into the res below. The waterfall airates the res-DWC and the flow-NFT.


Easy to make a pot to fit, hold the plant in cubes to start with if that easier, just ipe the flow onto the cube and let the drain fall through the hole in the lid and into the res.


Theroetically, I'd like to pipe some of the pressurised exaust air into each pot too, just to keep the temps and new oxygen up.

Currently has plants growing in 3 inch cubes on a grate over a res. The pump feeds down the side of the cubes, the roots hang down.
