    Use 3/4 oz. bud and you're fine. Do NOT use stems! #1: stems won't get you HIGH and #2: that's a good way to rip your cloth a fuck everything up!

    I heard stems still had a little something in them. Not even close to buds or sugar leaves, but still some. I chop them into half inch pieces and grind em up.


    I use a steel tea strainer, too. No Cheesecloth to mess up!


    I'm not trying to argue with you. It was just something I've heard. I have made butter with just stems before. It definitely wasn't as strong, but it did do something...

    I personally don't think they taste 'nasty'; just a hint of weed. Bud's had 'em, Teamster has, and now TA. Ask them if they taste nasty. Then again... what doesn't taste bad to one may taste nasty to another. I actually like the taste.


    Sorry to disagree disco, but stems have zero value and no cheese cloth? Seriously?! You have to end-up with alot of sediment.

    They honestly taste like cookies. The first one i ate yeah it tasted strong but i ate another 2 last night,went into what i can only describe as a valium like induced sleep state and woke up today,overslept yeah but i felt fuckin ace all day,been out with the wee man getting haircuts n doing my shopping. I honestly could be doing with THAT kinda stone a lot more than the stone im getting from smokin,no shit. Good body buzz,funny stone and after a good sleep i was glowing all day in a good way out and about.Smoking makes me procastinate a lot more.If i smoke a joint in daytime then im going nowhere unless i HAVE to so i tend to only do nights. Just had 2 cookies there and my brother came round with few spliffs.I was just munchin the cookies there as if they were normal cookies.Great fuckin sleep with them for sure and a nice happy glow:thumbsup: It was a cool as fuck surprise steelcity:thumbsup:

    Thats EXACTLY how i would describe them Bud:thumbsup: The taste of weed when you smell good bud.Couldnt put it better.When your eating your not thinking it tastes anything other than sweet with big ol chocolate chips in there:eusa_drool: Your aware,in a pleasant way i find,of the strong almost more aroma like than taste of good bud.I could easily eat them all the time with a coffee just the same way i do with a joint.Mr A's for sure got his recipe nailed down:good job:

    Stems don't add shit except more cannabis flavor. It's buds and only buds for clean butter. Airy popcorn buds do best for me with regular bud a close second. Trim and shit tastes like shit but it does the job.


    That, and short simmer times. How long you simmer your mash MrA?

    That would explain it then. Like I said before, one of the best highs I ever had was from some cookies a friend made. And now that I think about it, they did taste like good weed smells. Everything I grow will get you nice and high but it for sure does not have that "top shelf" smell to it (the bubblegum kf comes real close) and anything made from it tastes nasty as hell. That's been with kandy kush, green crack, devils weed, herijuana. I even tried making something like bhang out of the recipe for hershies cocoa, it was even nasty.

    Following the instructions I found originally, I simmered for 45-60 mins. I've since found 30 mins. SLOW simmer and you're good to go :thumbsup:

    I'm a good baker/cook, but I can't get them as most as regular cookies. Something with the 'canna'. Knowing what they'll do, I have no problem scarfing them down!


    Good point re: consistency. I'm a pretty good baker/cook and I can't seem to get them any more moist, like regular cookies. Something to do with the 'canna', I guess. Knowing where they'll take you though and I have no problem scarfing them down!

    NO wonder people think they're dieing and have auditory hallucinations on my cookies. I use 4-6 oz(about a gallon bag full) of popcorn buds and sugar trim with 8 sticks of butter in a crockpot overnight then strain as normal. People are FUCKED and usually freak out so I quit making stuff out of the butter and just used the trim for hash which everyone likes... Hhhmm maybe I give it another go round...Steelnuts

    Ok, one question. Why use water instead of just simmering the butter?


    I am definately giving this a whirl. The problem is getting my wife to "give up" some smoking stuff. If it was leaves she would rather have the hash.

    the water gives you more volume in which to infuse your butter.


    if you melted two sticks of butter it would be 1/4" or so in a sauce pan....all you would do is cook your pot, not infuse the butter.


    With the water it gives you enough volume to have the buds not sitting cooking but rather simmering in the sauce.


    No worries though, THC is NOT water soluble...it gets infused in the FAT of the butter. That's why after you make butter, you put in a bowl or something to let the butter harden and then pour off the water. The water is just waste, but provides volume to the process
