I have recieved a reply from webmaster. --------- I am out of town till tuesday but when I get back in town I will set this up. I think it is a good solution for now until I can get something better going. Of course if too many people start trying to trade illegal things I will have to close it but I am confident you will be able to keep things in check. I don't think I can add a subsection under Guest Lounge but I can add a whole other section title "Classifieds" or "Trading Post" whatever you think is best. I don't think there is any reason to allow anonymous posting to a classified section so I would probably make it members only. The one thing that really scares me about a classifies section is the ability for law enforcement to use it to try to gain information on people and maybe even bust them. If people have to put up information like their email address to trade items law enforcement could get these addresses. Worse yet law inforcement could pose as users and gain addresses from people who are trading items. Don't people worry about this type of thing? Maybe you could start a thread asking about it and see what we can do to make it safe. Personally I do not think it is a good idea to trade even legal items (that may be used for illegal activites) with people I do not know. I have to know someone for a long time and have mutual trust with them before they even know I am involved in this sub-culture. I think security is the biggest concearn. I am not sure what to do about it because the last thing I was is people getting busted as a result of the site. I will think about it till Tuesday when I return and maybe you can come up with some ideas and together we can create something that will be usefull but also safe. Webmaster ------- Alright everynody, let's put our head's together for when he return's. Let's show him some reasonable and logical idea's that would benefit everyone and not put people in harm's way. Ofcourse, it is ultimatly up to the individual of who they trust or not. So if anyone get's ripped off or arrested you have no one to blame but yourself. The webmaster should hold no responsability for action's taken by user's or item's lost or stolen. This is our own deal, our own stuff and our own responsability! Also, our own asses so keep it discreet and trust only people you know.
A propor disclaimer should exclude the webmaster from any responseibiliy. Then, Let the trading commence. Only trade with good friends. Like Closetgrowth,sylent skull, agent johnson, greenthumb420, Cigar, and peeps like that who are trustworthy.
You said it BD. I think many people will benefit from this new lounge. I'm not so worried about the cop's as I am about people not sending the stuff. I buy and sell on Ebay alot and I can tell you from EXP. that some people are just *******'s. I've been burnt so many times I only deal with people who have a 20 rating or higher and no more than 3 negatives, excusable negatives that is. You can usualy tell by the negative feedback whether or not the guy was just a plain dick about it. We should incorporate a rating system as well to warn people of bad trader's and praise the good ones. Also make sure every description is as detailed as possible, like scrathces, dent's, age..thing's like that so no one can complain about a product they recieved. A picture of the item would be nice to.
have fun in the pokey folks! You guys n gals are nuts!!! It really does sound cool, but think about it really. The webmaster is totally right, it would be way to easy to get people. I know the po-po can't get a warrant based on what you buy/sell/trade (as long as it's legal items), but they sure can start an investigation. Not for me, that's for sure. But hey, if you guys can figure out a SECURE way to do it, more power to ya!!
Yea, i would probably deal with the familiar names we know on here..as in the people we see each day on the forums..Other than that, I would worry about sending any money orders to any brand new member..etc..We should have a feedback rating too.. First of all there should be a disclaimer on items for sale/trade releasing liability from the webmaster and the item is not to be used in an illegle purpose, something like that.I use ebay alot and havenot been burned because i'm carefull.knock on wood. anybody here use c-bay?How do they get by?And how long have they been around. It all comes down to....if you use a trading post,you take responsibility. I know who i would deal with and i won't name names,and you should too. Ultimatly it depends on the webmaster and i respect whatever decision he makes. My .02 cents.
