Update @ Day 32


I realize it's only been a few days, but I was taking pictures today and noticed how quickly they've been growing and changing. I've already had to tie some down because of height, and others to give their lower branches some light. Here's the gang today.





The Critical Jack and Sadhu 3 continue to be the tallest, and have both been tied down for a few days. It's hard to tell now, but I bent their main stems all the way over, and they are now turning back up. Same for Kandy Kush 1, which was also above the height of the screen.


The Cream Caramel on the other hand I just tied over to the side a bit to give those well-developed lower branches some light. The tip of the main stem is to the left, and there are six more growing tips to the right. See if you can find all six! This is one short, bushy plant!


Same for Sadhu 2 -- I just tied it over to the side a bit to get more light down below. Sadhu 1 (the shortest of the bunch) and Kandy Kush 2 are the only ones that've gotten no training so far.


One other interesting development in the last couple of days is that Sadhu 1 and 2 are both showing female preflowers. That means only Sadhu 3 has yet to show anything definitive, but I'm sticking by my previous guess that it's male. Looks like my prediction that Sadhu 2 is female is going to pan out, so I'm already batting .500 with my Sadhu predictions.


I also fed them again today along with some molasses. Probably one more week of veg and then it's time to flip. At this rate, a lot can happen in a week, so please drop by again.

Not An Update


All of my photo albums have disappeared, so it looks like I can't post any new photos. I hope GK gets this fixed soon so I can resume my regularly-scheduled updates. Please stay tuned.

Update @ Day 39


I gave up waiting for the pictures and albums here to get fixed. I posted my most recent update pict on another forum. Luckily, the link seems to work.


If you've been paying attention, you'll notice something different about this latest photo. Aside from the continued growth. Any guesses?





Give up? The difference is that one plant is gone. I'm pretty sure Sadhu 3 was a male, so I chopped it this past week. Regardless, the other two Sadhu look to be females, and I only have room for 6 plants of this size. And, as you can see, the space is pretty much filled up.


At this point, all of them have been tied down. And all have some pretty decent side branch development. I don't know if I'll end up with big buds, but I sure should have a lot of them. I still haven't put the screen in yet, as it's not really necessary. Probably will be once the 12/12 stretch starts.


And the BIG news: I flipped the timer to 12/12. I did it yesterday after the lights came on, so today will be the first full 12 hour dark cycle. That means these young ones have had 41 days of veg. And I still should be on track to harvest around the end of November, and be all dried and cured by Xmas. At least that's the plan.

I usually do try to keep a male around. But it really is a space issue this time. Usually I end up with fewer females and more room, but the fem seeds made a big difference this go around.


Also, my last grow I made some Sadhu seeds, so I have enough to last me a while, seeing as how Sadhu is being discontinued. And I have more CC and KK seeds. I'm hesitant to grow out crosses that I make because of limited space and time, I don't like not knowing what to expect or possibly wasting time on something that sucks. Hence my new-found liking of fem seeds.


Having said all that, last grow I grew out some LA Goddess seeds I made (God Bud x LA Woman), and they turned out EXCELLENT. Got lucky.

Update @ Day 5 of 12/12

As you can see from the current photo, not much has changed since last week. Other than the addition of the SCROG screen. Other than that, growth has slowed since flipping to 12/12. No stretch yet.





As you can see, all but the Cream Caramel have their main and most of their side branches above screen level. I don't know what happened to the CC. It just stopped growing about two weeks ago, before 12/12, so I don't know what its problem is. Looks healthy enough. Even the formerly-diminutive Sadhu 1 is bigger than the CC now.


All were showing female preflowers before the flip, and all still look about the same now. No dramatic bud explosion yet. I'm just hoping they are big enough to give me a decent yield, something I've yet to achieve.

 

Update @ Day 12 of 12/12


We're into the second week of flowering, and I think the stretch has come and gone. Over the past week or so I've been doing a lot of bending and tucking. (Of the plants, I mean.) In particular, the Critical Jack and Sadhu have stretched quite a bit. But now they're slowing down. Each day now there are fewer and fewer branches that need to be tucked under the screen. I guess that means it's time for them to get started on some serious flowering. Good thing too, as they really haven't done much in that respect yet. No more than a few white hairs here and there.





It's getting hard to tell now what's what. I even have to trace some branches back to see who they belong to.


As I said, the Critical Jack is the biggest stretcher by far. It's branches take up pretty much the entire left/rear half of the screen. It's also starting to get the thinnest leaves of the group. The Cream Caramel on the other hand continues to NOT grow. Most of its lower branches are now above the screen, but just barely. It does however have the most developed flowers.


The Kandy Kush continue to grow slowly but steadily, as do the Sadhu. Both now have most of their lower branches above the screen. Overall, I think the screen is filling in quite nicely now.


I gave them (probably) their last low dose of veg ferts this week, as well as their first low dose of bloom ferts. They also go a shot of molasses for good measure.


Please stay tuned. I think by next week we should be seeing some actual buds on these girls.

Update @ Day 19 of 12/12


Here we are at almost 3 weeks, and I'm finally starting to see some flowers. We're not quite at the Q-Tip stage, but pretty close. Without further ado, here they are:





Looks like I was wrong about the stretch being over. I'm still tucking and bending, and they're still turning back up toward the light. And, as you can see, the screen continues to fill in. Even the Cream Caramel has most of its lower branches above the screen now.


I don't want to jinx anything, but this is about the fullest I've ever managed to get the screen. As I've said before, I have feminized seeds to thank for that. Who knows, maybe I'll finally manage to break the 3 oz barrier.


My only other observation is that there is no smell as of yet. Sticking my nose into any of these baby buds gives me a whole lot of nothing.


And, since I know you all are tired of looking at leaves (I know how you are), here's some baby buds for your viewing pleasure.
