I haven't quite figured that out yet. Force seems so messy and chaotic, we'd probobly destroy more than it's worth to liquidate and a tax would'nt enforce enough of it to be feasable; people would only hide wealth. The ruling class of this country are alot of things but stupid isn't one of them. They saw this threat comming a long time ago, even going back to the Ronald Regan records that people would listen to while eating coffie cake and brandy and, shit a few of them were smokin weed too, indoctrinating people against the government entering health care. They have convinced enough of the middle and lower classes that their interests align w/ the ruling class, that the people that would benifit the most from a more singular instead of pluralistic societal make-up are the most against that kind of progress. If a societal make-up that emphasizes our dependance on each other to survive instead of this macho, bullshit, obsolete male impulses from 100,000 years ago(Lead, follow, or get out of the way), over-stimulated and over nurtured, panic driven motherly instincts(little 12yo Billy can take Ritalin but ride a bike around the corner, out of the question! Someone might kidnap and molest him, fuckin Nancy Grace, paranoia shit), is considered SOCIALIST, then yes. Yes I do. For a time, then we re-establish the free market AFTER these deep pockets of poverty are dealt with rationally and responsibly, across racial and socio-economic lines. More money circulating at the bottom can give birth to a new economy, farmiliar names will still be around(Mc Donalds, Walmart) but with a new generation at the helm of the ship, one that better reflects the demographics of the country. The whole thing should take 5 to 7 years. It could work if we worked it, IF, but we wount. It'll be tagged as an attempt to develop a socialist country and will be laughed out of congress. Que sera, sera.

 

It's a better plan than we seem to have going on right now....I'll give you that.


Problem is...as you said...it'll never pan out. The fact of the matter is that we're headed for a shit hole and nothing is going to stop it. Great ideas are worthless if there's no means to implement them. In this day and age of our government being hijacked.....count of the crash landing and for Heaven's sake....KEEP YOUR MOUTH CLOSED! Really I only got two things with this. Since the NY Times has been called out for plaigarism and inconsistencies in their articles I wouldn't use them to cite anything. Also, yes I may be a criminal generally in the things I do in my personal and political life. But I am as the world made me. If the government would have me live legally, they'd make legal jobs more readily available, and give me less trouble when I didn't have the money that they need for whatever tax. It just seems like a lot of the money that the government takes from the citizenry is used to either influence mass opinion or spending, or to harass the common man.

Too funny but I can't smoke marry-jew-wanna because I'm on probation until December. Even though my probation officer seems nice, I would rather just know I got my shit straight than chance having her give me a drug test.

I know I do. Not because I'm hot on socialism per say but because a truly limited government will never exist (and if it did, it wouldn't stay that way). Since anything inbetween socialism and a properly limited government is worse than socialism I'm going with socialism.


Capitalism is what got us into this boat in the first place. Capitalism empowers those with means, by design. Those with means amounts to the wealthy elite and massive corporations that are the biggest enemy real people have.


As for healthcare, its like the standards system versus the metric system. Our healthcare system barely passes muster among civilized nations (and a few not so civilized ones) and yet we spend ten to a hundred times as much on it. We have a capitalist system (and boy is there capital floating around, course the cream is directly converted from human life and suffering) but we are only competing with social systems... since we are the wealthiest economy in the world (due to our rich natural resources not capitalism or a can do attitude, we have a trade deficit and produce little of value these days) all we are doing raising costs for the rest of the world and putting a burden on their educational and healthcare systems.


We are the squeaky wheel. Stop jacking up prices for the rest of the world and stop expecting their educational systems to subsidize us by buying out their doctors. How about we actually foot the bill to educate actual american doctors, programmers, engineers, and call center workers and stop whining about nobody having jobs until we do.

 

Now those are the types of jobs that an administration should be counting as jobs added to the economy, not all these minimum wage jobs w/ no benifits that were created during the 8 yrs of Republican rule. They even tried to make it easier to get an H1B visa for importing foreign workers (primarily for the jobs tht you just listed), I wonder why noone was shouting people down in town hall meetings for that? That seems like more of a threat to our economy than Healthcare Reform.

 

I certainly hope everyone has taken the time and gotten prepared (food, gold, and/or silver) because the shit is about to hit the fan. My advice is to take this guy's advice (offered at the end of the article).

Hemp seed is a complete protein and is 30% protein. It's loaded with fiber and be can made into milk, cheese, etc. You can survive on nothing but hempseed and water indefinitely if need be.

I agree 100%. All those things are great for being prepared. If you know me then you know I've got most of those bases covered as well. I just hope everyone else does too. That's why I'm spreading the word.


I do have to disagree with you on gold however. Gold and silver are a means of preserving your accumulated wealth. When the dollar falls you had better have your lifeboat ready or else you're bust...just like that! All gone and nothing to show for your hard work. Can't buy what ya need with nothing. As for the government taking it....LOL...they have to find it first. They can't take what they can't find.


Also....I never asked anyone to get worked up about what's coming...I asked them to prepare. BIG difference my friend....big difference. Worrying about shit doesn't do anything...preparing for it does.

 

I'd be more concerned about the hungry people and the strong trying to take what you have than the government. One of the most important things to do right now is to organize in a local citizen militia that is ready to act if the need arises.


Everyone supplies their own initial gear, weaponry, and supplies but there is a command structure. You can have a certain minimal amount of training in place. If chaos sets in everyone knows where to go and as an organized group there is a strength and stability that you won't have going it alone.


Just don't let in any crazies who are likely to go off and firebomb a federal building full of children for no apparent reason. Or... make enough noise that the feds stage something of the sort to discredit the militia movement again.

I am fortunate to live in a small community that is well off the main road with very defendable land. There are only a hand full of neighbors here...we all know each other well, and we keep an eye out for one another. We actually have a neighborhood watch program in place already. Being in the hills helps a lot too....there's only one road in and that makes all the difference. Up here it's not wise to approach someone's house either...it's common knowledge that you may get shot if you do so. None of the houses are easily accessed here without someone knowing you're coming.


My circumstances are not the same as everyone else's though...I'm truly blessed to be where I am and I make no bones about it. I'm ready for anyone who thinks they can come take what I have built here...that you can count on, but I'm sure there are many here who don't have that option. In that case they need to start gathering their forces and do what they need to do to protect what they have. There's strength in numbers.
