I was bored today... So I baked a cake, then I realized that I didn't really have an occasion to frost it for, so here ya go, my GK pals! Oh, but I have to eat it without sharing....I feel so bad....HA! :nanner: :nanner: :nanner: :nanner: :nanner: :nanner:
as far as spam goes i will only eat it in a musubi. a spam musubi is a hawaiian snack/appetizer and is a thick slice of spam on top of a one inch layer of rice with a layer of teriyaki sauce wrapped in seaweed. its about the size of a quarter pounder and is actually really good. theyre hard to get when you have the munchies, unless you live near a hawaiian barbeque, so i usually go to 7-11 for hagen daaz vanilla swiss almond ice cream. dark chocolate covered almonds in real vanilla ice cream. i uaually put a half pint in the microwave for a half minute or so, that way its not hard as a rock.
I'm always hungry! For some reason I've been craving cake...and bacon. I ate a whole pack of bacon toady between brakfast, b.l.t.'s for lunch, and bacon wrapped tenderloin for dinner...:icon_confused: poor pig....sure was yummy! I've actually been craving spam ever since last week....I wonder why? Maybe that's contributing to my bacon craze....?:laughing5: That musubi sounds good, Jimmy...I would be tempted to put some pineapple on it, too...mmm Pisses me off, Baskin Robbins makes this ice cream called Daquiri Ice....:love4: :love4: :love4: :love4: :love4: :love4: I offered my sister $100 plus gas money to drive me a couple gallons over here, "It's just ice cream!" she says!:icon_confused: Used to live by like 10 of them, now the closest one is 400 miles away!!!!!!! AAAAARRRGGGHHHHHH!!!!!! I guess it's time for a road trip.......
i dont know about where you guys live, but over here baskin robbins' ice cream shops have disappeared. whats even more disappointing is thrifty drug stores not serving ice cream in the store anymore. only pre packaged half gallons. i remember when i was younger a scoop of thrifty ice cream was only a quarter. then it went up to 30 cents, and finally 50 cents, and that was still a kickass deal considering the price of ice cream everywhere else. im only 32 now, but these prices lasted at thrifty till i was about 15 or so. now theres no way youre gettin a dairy queen soft serve where i live for under a buck. damn i feel old!
DAMN allsmilez that looks flippin awesome,,, its gettin time for (your) grandmas fudge recipe you were tellin me about. gunna be good
Hah!!!lmao!!! Dammit, AB.....I'm going to have to try that!!!:scream: But I used all my bacon yesterday!.....reminds me of another fave...cook some bacon and put it in a Belgian waffle when you cook it....mmmm...you get a bite of bacon with every bite of waffle...:love4: Oh, yes, Ish...I got all my candy/bread/cake/cookie making stuff the other day(hence having to bake a cake...)....had to clear off a shelf in the pantry...lol! I even have my "diet" butter ready...ooohhhh, FUDGE!:love4: Dang, Jimmy!!! I paid @ $7.00 PER QUART of the Daquiri ice....4 years ago...it was always ridiculously expensive. But worth every cent....
Thanks! Thanks, Mr. D., too bad you guys can't taste it... I'm so lame, I know...you'd think I was a bored housewife or something...lol! Glad y'all enjoy my cooking, even if it is just looking at it!
:spam4: I to have been thinking of :XXspam: since last week!.....bacon is so good, bacon pinapple pizza is great!....Im eating a ice cream fudge bar now and its really good! its late and I should go to bed but now I'm thinkin of waffles and bacon.....I'm in quite a pickle.......mmmmm pickles :qswim:
LOL! My wife and I just bought some SPAM tonight (the low sodium version). We'll be having that for dinner tomorrow. Not sure how we are going to cook it, but I'll figure something out.
Facts on SPAM http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spam_%28food%29 I grew up in Northeastern U.S. and there was this product call SCRAPPLE-very similar and twice as indicipherable. ALPO taste better.. Made me homesick for a minute, now I'm gonna go make a Cheesesteak.otleaf:
HAHA! Spam! ...I believe only stoners would be discussing ways to make:XXspam: ..lol! I even picked some up the other day, just for such emergency...lol! I 'spose I'll have to get it out....:icon_confused: Cannot believe they actually have recipes for this stuff!
...havin' his cake...and eatin' it too... ...Allz... ...Just want'd to know if havin' yer' cake and eatin' it too...is all they say it's crack'd up to be... ...You know me...where there is doubt...there is an answer...if you just go fishin'... ...so pray tell...is it GK's birthday...or was a cake walk...the way to go... ...I love "strange munchies"... ...Here's a few o' mine...: Tomato sandwiches: 2 whole wheat slices of bread 2 "homegrown" garden fresh slicer tomatoes 4-6 "homemade" large sized bread n' butter pickles I spread real mayo on one slice of bread... ...and then some gourmet spicy mustard on the other... Place sliced tomatoes and bnb cuke slices on either slice then just place the other slice of bread on top...wa-la...yum...had just a few hundred of these this last summer... I love cottage cheese with garden tomatoes also...lil' ground pepper, maybe add some chop'd cukes. onions, sweet bell peppers, and even some summer squash... Call me crazy...but when I am blazed to the nines...I find that healthy munchies leave me feelin' alot better about not only myself...but my stomach does not exact such a heavy toll...I like twinkies...just like the next guy/girl...however, I have always been a stickler for moderation...not only that...too much sugar at my age...just leaves me feelin' crappy...just the middle age in me I guess...lol. DC ...I guess I could be pretty piss'd off about what happened to me... ...But it's hard to stay mad when there's so much beauty in the world... ...Sometimes I feel like I'm seeing it all at once... ...And it's too much... ...My heart fills up like a balloon that's about to burst... ...And then I remember to relax... ...And stop trying to hold on to it... ...And then it flows through me like rain... ...And I can't feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life... ...You have no idea what I'm talking about I'm sure... ...But don't worry... ...You will someday...
Ironic, actually.... Lol...Daze...I believe that you can overdo a good thing. Having the cake sitting on the counter....seems like I don't want it so bad now that it's right there in front of me...Funny how things work like that sometimes? (I was actually practicing for Christmas...gotta outshine the sisters...lol!) I have a house with a few sweet tooths in it, so cookies and cakes are a daily thing...but just for dessert.(except the cook!) I love cottage cheese and tomatoes..I like to slice them thin and sprinkle sugar on them...(haha, I just realized I DO put sugar on everything...lol!) But I also listen to my body...it seems that if I'm missing something in my diet, I will crave certain things. I can sit down and eat an entire block of cheddar cheese when I'm hungry for it, or it can sit in the fridge for 2 weeks before I'll eat any. But nothing, and I mean NOTHING beats homegrown veggies...well, homegrown anything for that matter!...no store bought can ever compare!
Who needs a sugar dose? Everyone getting thier sugar requirements? In case not, here ya go.... Some fudge.... Peanut Butter Truffles... Sugar cookies...I was bored, so I colored the dough...lol.. Old-fashioned hard candy....we call it 'Stained Glass'... And of course, for the more health-conscious...Homemade Brown Sugar Apple Pie..... There's alot more to do...caramels, banana bread, maybe some divinity...lol..don't worry, guys....we hardly eat any of it...the neighbors and friends get to go into sugar shock....we just get to sample the wares.... ....Just a reminder to have a safe and wonderful holiday season....please remember to be kind to one another and enjoy the many wonderful blessings we have all recieved. Every day is a day to be thankful for; coming into the holidays, we tend to forget that......Peace, Love, and Happiness!-
Is there one of those besides the one in south dakota???? (sanfords grub and pub) check out what I just cooked!!! Pork roast, mashed potatoes, and my FAVORITE, baked beans...MMMMMM
