I can pull up multiple sources showing that the pali are a true people and even if you want to say they are Arabs, that would be like saying there are no Germans, just Europeans. I don't want to start drama on the board, just figured that anyone and everyone would be against Newt for flaming already high tensions
The funny thing to me is that some people think history is objective fact, when it's basically a few nuggets of objective, verifiable fact wrapped up in a whole lot of fictional narrative, prejudice and self-justifying myth-making. It's mostly subjective. It's a story-telling method, based on a few probable facts, by which a people define who they are and who their enemies are. The one thing I learned in my one college history class is that history is basically a viewpoint and there are always multiple viewpoints for any time and place. :FAQ:

Hearing someone say that there's no evidence that the Palistinians have a distinct culture and history is like hearing Newt Gingrich say that poor kids have no example of a work ethic from their parents. I'm sure that you can pull a few sources of quoted literature of people who think the same thing as you do as can I, but the truth of the matter is that you and Mr. Gingrich are wrong.
